  1. 1. Should the Panthers sit an injured Cam and go with DA?

    • Yes - sit Cam to allow him to heal

    • No - play Cam even if he's dinged up

    • Maybe - play Cam but only if we bring back the QB runs

I think you let him play, I think he is learning what it takes to be a pocket QB. I think he will get worse, he has rib pads and the ankle is getting better. Its possible that he actually gets better out of this.

He is showing his best passing skills to date right now....and I think that is likely from only being a passer all offseason. I think this season will essentially make Cam into the ultimate beast.

Yes, sit him. Let DA take over. Hers another thing to think about. What happens if we sit him, DA has a excellent year and we have to sign Cam to a big contract after the season. What happens?! We still dont know if he will ever be 100% after he has had a season to heal, so do we just sign him to a mega deal and cross our fingers and gamble he will be back to full form?! What if we do that and he comes back like RGIII and never gets back to full form?! Meanwhile we have 100 plus million tied up in him.

Things can get very very intresting fast.. Also what if DA signs with another team after his banner year, come next season Cam gets his cotract, hes still nkt back to form and we will be without DA to save us. Sue the complete opposite could happen and we live happily ever after, but you have to look at all angles

Are you serious, or just trolling?

DA has been in the league since 2005. He's a solid backup, but he poo the bed every time he got a chance to be the starting QB. You act like the Panthers have Tom Brady waiting in the wings. Get a hold of yourself.

This injury may be beneficial to Cam in the long run.  It is forcing him to make plays from the pocket and continue to develop his ability to read a defense.  In the long run, this could be a great thing for his continued development as a great QB.

He is making some great throws and has looked more accurate than I can remember.  All the while doing it without a running game.

The o-line needs to take some pride in the running game and protecting him.  it starts with the man in the middle in Kalil.  Through three games he has been sub par.  Not sure if it is his play is declining, or if it is the fact that he is having to overcompensate for the lack of talent around him.

If Cam keeps getting hit on every other play he won't last much longer those ribs need time to heal.

However I do believe Cam should start but have DA come in as soon as Cam shows any signs of being in pain.

This should just be the end of the thread.

Being at the game, I might have seen more than the cameras showed. Cam was stretching and working out his ankle and torso a LOT during the game (both on field and on the sidelines). He looked fine to start, but as the hits kept coming, he progressively started looking more and more beat up and battered. It's killing his confidence not being able to make those "Cam" plays that make him who he is as a QB. He can't twist out of the pocket and outrun guys to the edge right now. He physically can't do it because he's just not 100% and won't be if he keeps playing and getting abused. If the run game is immensely better this week, then we might see a different picture. A lot of his bad throws (one dump off on a short crossing route that was badly underthrown, for instance) were due to linemen being in his lap and him not being able to step into the throw. That kind of crap wasn't a problem last year because he had the upper body strength to chuck it. Right now, with those ribs still hurting, he can't do it.

Start Cam, let's see what the offense does, and if he starts grimacing and having to constantly work his body after plays, pull him and let Anderson take over the rest of the game. Literally take him out, have a trainer run him into the locker room, change into street clothes, and let him stand on the sideline with a radio.

And just to add, Shula calls a MUCH different game with DA in the game. A lot more quick hitters. Giving Cam those slow-developing plays with NO run game to keep the defense at bay is a BIG reason Cam is taking so many hits. Sure, he can make those throws well when they're there, but we need more formation variety and more quick hitting passes. I swear, if I had heard ONE more fan yell "get rid of it quicker" while Cam was in a 7-step drop, I was going to scream and punch a baby koala bear in the throat.

We saw what happens when Cam has those quick routes. Philly Brown was eating them up.

I remember one of the Analysts from Sunday's game saying it, the Panthers have no consistency.  I agree with him. I believe this team's biggest problem is the lack of consistency. I believe success came very early for this team and you fans and many of you fans believe that the road to the SB is an easy one and all u need is a QB because that is all that you might have needed when u went to the SB.

U guys need to stop working Cam like a workhorse to compensate for the lack there of. Yes, he's exceptionally talent but if you don't utilize that talent correctly, you are simply squandering it.

Here is how u know if the problem with your team is the QB or other components: Simply ask yourselves this question: how many of today's young QBs I  plug into this team's QB position and he will survive?  Heck, for as good as Anderson looked on Sunday, it was only one series. He was fresh off the bench and many of the Steelers defense hadn't figured out his game. How long do you think he would have gone before he ended being sacked or even worst throwing an Int?

I think the gameplan has been to limit Cams runs.  I know Cam feels it but he is a fugging awesome competitor.  He might feel it later but the man is going to lead us places we haven't gone yet.

I think the gameplan should go through Cam.  Can you run this?  Are you up for it?  Let Cam decided what he can do and what he can't.

If you are going to put a pocket QB and not let Cam be Cam then let DA run it till Cam can be Cam.

    • Which is why I'm all for trading Lamelo. Guy misses half of every season. I swear he just likes to sit on the bench to show off his street clothes. I think it negatively impacts the other guys who do the same. If guys don't want to play, they don't need to be here. Coach and gm need to get stricter
    • See, I have a different view of it. I think that just the opposite is very true, and often proven on our very own team.  Look at the impact that CMC had when he was here.  Look at how bring in two top rate IOL to play guard last season made a huge difference in finally getting a stable front for Bryce to live behind. It took a while for it to bear fruit, but those last games were just relevatory. And off ball linebackers like Luke Kuechly, not just running a defense but dictating the game when he's on the field, truly remarkable what a difference that makes. Personally, he had as much or maybe even more to do with that Super Bowl appearance as Cam did.  What I see in the NFL is teams trying hard to cover up for a lack of good linebackers by stacking the D-line. But it gives them a crust defense, one that is hard and crunchy on the outside but a feast within. Linebackers shouldn't just rule the middle of the field, but should be directing traffic and working as enforcers.  But hey, whatever. "Devalued" positions often come back to bite you in the ass when they are neglected. Ask anyone who has had to clean up the mess left behind by a former college coach who took over a pro team and brought their college recruiting mindset in. Yanno, like Matt Rhule did.
    • I see it this way--XL was raw.  Raw players when drafted who are forced to start immediately are very raw players in the NFL-- How is he helped? TMac will shift the focus of the defense away from XL.  XL will be more experienced.  He will have an offseason of jugs work.  He is a very good athlete.  He can only get better.  Wallace?  Same thing.  He will get better with an improved defensive front and the addition of these heat-seeking head hunters at S.  I think about the players we will have on defense in 2025 that we did not have in 2024. Derrick Brown. DE Brown III NT Wharton DE Jones Edge Moehrig S Princely. Edge Scourton. Edge Ransom. S Cam Jackson NT Roseboom  LB While we may not know what we have, we know what we don't have--
