G.Williams back on IR

Even before the Hardy situation, he knew our line was pathetic and still tagged him for 1 year for 13 mil. Dumb move.

He should've done something about the line 6 months ago.

Hind sight is always 20-20. If Hardy was still playing and helping raise havoc with our DL and Cam was playing injury free, which would help compensate for our current OL weakness, this conservation wouldn't be taking place. The report from day one said we wouldn't be signing  big name players with hefty long term contracts.. What a lot of fans fail to realize is that we have some big core player contracts coming due soon and have to make allowance for them Meanwhile, we have to live with some of the short term negative situations, whether we like it or not.

We can either make excuses about the Hardy situation, and pack it in for the season, or we can do something about the OL. Panthers fans have been hearing excuses for long enough. We've done a pitiful job at building an OL since drafting Newton, it's time to make a move.

First you always used to say that we've done a poor job of surrounding Cam with weapons. Now that that has happened the tune is changing to oline?

Some of you talk like the FO is blind and does not care. Their jobs are at stake too if this team stinks.

Are you arguing that we've done a spectacular job surrounding him with weapons?

If you are going to attempt to call someone out, it might help if you first actually had a clue what you were talking about.

It took 3 seasons just to draft a competent WR.... Before that the only starter we added through the draft was Amini Silatolu.

DG has not been in charge for three seasons. We have also drafted oline the last two years. Fact that they have no panned out yet does not mean those positions are not being addressed.

As for the talk of weapons, he has had enough to work with, not all-pro but talented enough to get the job done. He has had Greg and Smith (two good WR threats) and an ok RB committee of DWill, Stew and Tolbert.

The best thing we did for Cam was trading for Olsen. But after that we seemed to always take one step forward, and two steps back.

We've built an OL with half UDFA's and guys starting who possibly wouldn't even be backups on other teams. We heard rumblings that Gross was ready to retire after the 2012 season, but we did basically nothing to attempt to acquire an adequate replacement for him.

I don't know if you are under the mistaken impression that I think Gettleman is "blind", or "does not care", but that definitely isn't the case.

People seem to forget DG matched the contract offer on one of the top OTs in free agency, he just chose to sign for the MRSA infected dumpsterfire known as Tampa Bay instead. After that every halfway decent FA OT got massively overpaid and there was no value in the draft at OT.

Who are you guys even saying we should have gone after or is it just "well uhh they should have gotten .. ummm.. someone!" Maybe instead of Kelvin Benjamin we should have taken the next OT drafted, Cyrus Kouandjio, who so far has looked worse than Byron Bell and can't even crack the starting lineup of the Buffalo fuging Bills. Yeah, that'd be awesome.

Thank Jeebus DG is in no way culpable for our current Oline roster.

He had no choice!

Wait, it was a conscious decision to blow out Smitty at some cap cost and spend our 1st and 2nd on WR then DL after spending 1st and 2nds on DL last year.

This was a calculated risk which all appearances seem to indicate we lost.

Barring of course a trade as Zod alluded to albeit in a severely compromised bargaining position.
