Has The Outlook On Hardy Changed (From A Pure Football Perspective)?

It's been widely rumored Hardy was as good as gone after this season. Two weeks ago, many were touting Addison as an easy plug and play guy to replace Hardy. Many thought Addison would easily match Hardy in role and scope as far as his impact and contributions to the team.

It is pretty clear that isn't the case.

IMO, outside of scheme and strategy, Hardy was even more important for his attitude that he brought to the team (and defense specifically) than for the ability he brought on the field.

After watching this defense the last two weeks, I think we've realized just how important Hardy was to this defense. On top of the other personnel-related mistakes our team is suffering through currently (here's looking att you OL and secondary), we can't afford to let Hardy walk for nothing regardless of the outcome of his legal situation. I think these last two weeks have demonstrated that he should be among the priorities to retain above all else and he's not nearly as expendable as many thought. I think we have to find a way to keep him so long as he stays out of trouble going forward. Again, I can't emphasize enough thst it's not just about his physical ability, he brings that semi-dirty, questionably-insanse attitude and edge our defense is so sorely lacking.

Have your thoughts on keeping Hardy or letting him walk changed in light of our recent showings?

Hardy is our best defensive player. Luke maybe overall but he has looked like ass for two straight games.

I hope we re-sign Hardy, because evidence shows our D is ass without him.

Yup.

Intangibles... I love Luke, but I have long thought his demeanor isn't his strong suit on the field.
