Hurney says the RB position is the Panthers biggest issue

Sure it's easy to bash Hurney but when Stewart was inked to an extension a few years ago, most of the huddle was thrilled.

Now I'm not saying that Hurney doesn't deserve some blame for the poor contracts. However, no one could have foreseen the injuries that our running back's are sustaining.

You shouldn't say that Hurney doesn't deserve some of the blame......he deserves all of the blame.

Anyone that has been paying attention to the NFL over the past 15 years knew that this was a mistake, and would handicap the team for half a decade, at least.

No we can't sign olinemen because 13 million dollars is sitting at home every week, about another 3 million just torched us in Baltimore. A lot of moves have been made since Hurney was here. Pretty soon Gettleman is going go have to start doing his job. Tired of the same ol excuse you guys make for him.

We saved 3 million by cutting Steve, it didn't cost us 3 million.

Gettleman is doing his job, much better than Hurney.  As soon as we can cut yours, and most other fan favorites, we will be on the way to recovery.

CJ and DWill this year, Stew after next season, SS last season, then the growth can start.

OL makes a rush attack. Not RBs.

There are special RBs. But that is a different conversation.

Look at KC. They have an OL. So when Charles goes down they can run. When he comes back he simply shows he is special.

Hurney doesn't get it

The browns are a good example of this loom at all the RBs that have looked good in their offense...hell even Peyton Hillis got a madden cover!

    • You're correct (on its face). But PFF does indeed use advanced stats to come up with their grades. Not trying to turn this into a debate about PFF (at all because it's been done ad nauseum), but here is how PFF explains it:   GRADES VS. STATS We aren’t grading players based on the yardage they rack up or the stats they collect. Statistics can be indicative of performance but don’t tell the whole story and can often lie badly. Quarterbacks can throw the ball straight to defenders but if the ball is dropped, you won't see it on the stat sheet. Conversely, they can dump the ball off on a sequence of screen passes and end up with a gaudy looking stat line if those skill position players do enough work after the catch. PFF grades the play, not its result, so the quarterback that throws the ball to defenders will be downgraded whether the defender catches the ball to notch the interception on the stat sheet or not. No amount of broken tackles and yards after the catch from a bubble screen will earn a quarterback a better grade, even though his passing stats may be getting padded. The same is true for most positions. Statistics can be misleading. A tackle whose quarterback gets the ball out of his hands quicker than anybody else may not give up many sacks, but he can still be beaten often and earn a poor grade. Receivers that are targeted relentlessly could post big-time numbers but may offer little more than the product of a volume-based aerial attack. https://www.pff.com/grades So PFF uses stats to come up with player grades and rankings.
