the only reason to get a manual transmission these days is because it's fun. when it comes to speed, the new autos are just too good now.

note that I have a manual and refuse to give it up, but that's because I love to drive a stick.

I would not own an auto.

Yeah, new autos are crazy advanced and can turn faster times. But they're boring to drive, and autos are 10x more of a pain to maintain. I'll sacrifice a small margin e/t for the driving experience, reliability, & low maintenance of a stick.

Right now I'm driving a 2013 VW Jetta turbo diesel 6-speed. 50 mpg & fun to drive. Went to the dealership last month & ordered a 2015 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab 4x4 turbo diesel 6-speed.

I love manuals....... & diesel.

Yeah, new autos are crazy advanced and can turn faster times. But they're boring to drive, and autos are 10x more of a pain to maintain. I'll sacrifice a small margin e/t for the driving experience, reliability, & low maintenance of a stick.

I thought you were full of poo but I just looked it up and they are making a 2.8L(I-4) duramax for smaller vehicles now?!? thats crazy.  I thought they were moving towards turbo 6's in light duty trucks now

 

i just sold my 2500 duramax 6.6L, best truck ever

Seriously considering the Colorado Diesel for my next vehicle.  Didn't realize you could already order the diesel.  I'm turned off by GM in general right now with seemingly every car getting recalled but I do love the idea of a medium diesel truck.

Turbo 6 is way too much engine for a mid-size truck. Most HD 3/4 & full ton diesels are turbo 6s.

A turbo 4 banger diesel will have just as much power, & more torque, than a 1/2 ton v8. And it will get more than double the gas mileage & last twice as long.

They are gonna sell like freaking hot cakes. The US is the only country that doesn't offer small diesels primarily. Small diesel trucks are the most popular vehicle pretty much everywhere else. And it's about the most practical & useful vehicle, too.

I love my little Jetta diesel but it's just too small. I was actually looking at trading it on the new VW Golf Sportwagen before GM announced the Colorado diesel.

Im not talking straight 6 diesels for 3/4 ton trucks. They are putting gasoline turbo 6's in the new light duty(f-150s, 1500s) instead of v8s

Iys crazy how great the performance of small diesels are in Europe. Ive always heatd it was our strict emissions standards that screwed us
