The Steelers have the blueprint on how to utilize Cam

that game showed us a team who can slightly alter their game plan week-to-week based on who they are playing. i dont think Ben threw more than two passes past 10 yards that game against us. they knew we relied on our pass rush and had a weak secondary and offset it by throwing passes behind the LOS and gambling on the secondary having to make a play. it worked. but they dont do that every week.

us, on the other hand, have one game plan no matter who we are playing. it's old, it's stale and it's predictable.

This times a million. The Steelers have a reputation of being old school, but they are actually pretty innovative. Hell, LeBeau invented the 3-4 defense. They weren't aftaid to change OCs either.

Yep, Dick Lebeau and Todd Haley were the architects of the Panthers' collapse this season. They came up with a beautiful game plan to exploit our schemes and we haven't recovered since.

Todd Haley is on par with Shula. Issue is Haley has an offense that features complete talent....Shula doesn't have an OL, dated RBs, zero speed. Talent makes it easy on a D....Steelers can stress a D

They gashed us on the ground.

No reason for Ben to sling it.

not really until the 2nd half. even before that, it was basically screen passes all day. we had been one of the best against the run until that game minus the big run by TB's fb. they were probably more shocked than we were that they were able to have so much success on the ground.

They know how/what type of WR to draft, best in league by far. I've watched a few denver games, sanders is the true #1. They have it figured out when it comes to drafting them at any round. I jelly.

Yeah but they let him go. He's been in the league for 5yrs and only posted his first 100yd game with Peyton.

benjamin was a good piece but we need receivers with speed who can get vertical in the worst way

how many times have we seen roethlisberger roll out of the pocket or evade a sack, set his feet, and launch a pass downfield to a guy streaking wide open?  i think cam can probably do that.

Roethlisberger and Cam are not the same QB.  Their similar in physical stature but their games are totally different.

Right now he's better than thomas, welker, and any other receiving option. Let him go, well when you draft sooo well at a certain spot at many rounds. Replace a 5mill per player with a 700,000k one under control for four years(they have similar pantherlike cap issues too). Ben been on record breaking 3 games; throwing over 1,000 yards 15 TDs. What happen during that time? They took marcus bryant(4th rounder) off the inactive list and he's giving Ds huge problems. The best current WR in the game right now is brown, whom I believe they took in the sixth round. Just in the last few years, they know when where to draft WRs.

Truth of the matter is when a team is winning, all of a sudden everyone thinks they know how to draft. Just like last year everyone was all over SEA's CBs.

No one was talking about Steeler's WR corps last season, not on here at least. There are very few WRs that will make any QB look good, for the most part, you need a good QB to make an average WR look like a very good one and that is why I cited Sanders never having a 100yd game until he got to DEN.

I put steelers in the top ten in terms of drafting, right now they know how to draft two groups very well LBs and WRs. Like the panthers they rarely miss in the first all while drafting towards the end too. Bell looks great, poucey the same. I think its a beyond dumb move the draft a OG in the first, well they did and he had a major knee injury. He's looking like a worthy pick now, even if its a sin in my book.

    • I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying
    • I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.
    • Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
