Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

I tend to prefer the single player side of CoD, so I hated Ghosts and BLOPS2 was only meh. That said I really enjoyed the MW trilogy and Treyarch's other stuff.

I'm a little scared to pick this up because it reeks of Ghosts type stuff, but since Troy Baker is the lead VA I'll give it a shot. Guy is the best in the biz.

Seems like if you want to do all that stuff, you may as well play Titanfall.  If Titanfall came out 6 years ago it would be huge but beccause the shooting is so much like CoD and CoD fan boys wouldn't give it a chance, it wasn't as successful as it could have been.

Don't get me wrong, I was and still am a fan of Titanfall.  It just always felt like something was missing.  Playing against a bunch of AI and only seeing an actual player a select few times during a match sort of got boring though.  The fun part came when you were able to hop into your Titan.

Did AW steal a few things from Titanfall?  Yea, they did, but I think Titanfall helped advance the COD series into a series that had become stale and is now, somewhat refreshing.  We'll see if I still feel that way two months down the road.

So I'm thinking of getting it. I hated ghosts and mw3, but every other cod was alright in my opinion. Can any of you give a review of the game? I feel like my time and money is better off going to FarCry 4 when it is released...

my brother just got it so i haven't played it very long, but i don't intend to. MW2 and on are all the same shitty game with new (terrible) maps and new (annoying and newb friendly) devices/killstreaks.

it sucks.

I really would love to see a next gen WWII game. I'm not sure why Call of Duty has not returned back to that direction, as the best games where the WWII games and COD 4

agreed. cod1, cod2 and cod4 (in no particular order) were my favorites. i don't think WW2 games will work on their current engine tbh. i'm not sure about console, but world at war was a total flop on PC... it was downright unplayable... ridiculously buggy in terms of bullet registration and just flat out bad in every aspect. guns fire slower and have higher recoil, which is pretty much the opposite of what cod has been since cod4.

I haven't bought a COD game since MW3 and gave it back in 3 days. MW2 was great. Black ops was decent, but got boring. I just got fed up with the direction that everything was going. I'm a run and gun person too, and I can't stand it when you can't find anyone because they're all camping in a corner.

CoD went too crazy with the killstreaks and rewarding bad people with easy killstreaks too.

I loved CoD4, in fact it may be my favorite game ever.  I played it hardcore for two years straight.  The simplicity of having UAV/airstrike/chopper worked really well.  The maps were well designed with spawns that were predictable yet avoidable with some map awareness.  You had to be "good" to do well on that game.  Now it's a cakewalk to have a 2-2.5 k/d ratio.    CoD4 was focused on gun play with killstreaks mixed in, whereas the next games focused on camping to get killstreaks and some gun play in the middle.

    • WR: Nico, Woods, Tank (R) TE: Schultz OL: Tunsil/Howard/Deiter/Mason/Fant vs. WR: Chark, Thielen, Mingo (R) TE: Hurst OL: Icky/Zavala (R)/Bozeman/Jensen (R)/Moton   Panthers' had the better OL before losing BC week 1 and AC week 4 which is kind of ironic considering how in the following year DB went down in W1 and Shaq in W4 resulting in the defense going all to Hell. CJ has done amazing in Houston, but he also wasn't asked to carry Zavala, Jensen, Mingo, Hurst, and Chark as a rookie.
    • Past 5 seasons, IMO CJ Stroud and Joe Burrow are the 2 best young QBs that have emerged in the league in that window.  They also didn’t need vets to be their primary pass catchers.  They helped fellow youngsters be great at WR.   almost all the other young QBs have been paired up with vets in their top options….and haven’t been as promising.  so it isn’t Madden.  But the league hasn’t played out as you suggest it does.   Good QBs make others around them better.
    • In 2023 their roster wasn’t stacked. They nailed the poo out of the 2023 draft and since they knew Davis Mills wasn’t the guy, they tanked properly to get pick 2. They also took Cleveland’s ridiculous offer for Watson unlike us with Burns. Houston received enough draft capital to jump up to 3 while picking up the right guys in Anderson and Stroud. The Texans were not stacked or better than us in 2023. They had 11 total wins from 2020 to 2022. They didn’t have a terrible front office so they made sure they got their QB of the future while tanking well and getting more draft picks. They are a textbook study of what we should have done in 2022/2023 offseason even though people in here still think tanking is a bad word and our culture would be bad if we were the Texans. We literally had the chance to be the Texans right now and fuged it up.
