Get real man. If you don't think DA would love to be the starter you are insane. You've seen them interact as teammates which is nothing more than how you would see any employees interact. We all do our best to get along with fellow coworkers it doesn't make us close. You are doing what everyone is doing and reading what you want into this. Don't fool yourself, DA would start every day over Cam and not feel bad for one second.

Ill tell you what's real. Neither Cam nor Anderson have any disillusions of DA taking the starting job. Of all Cams worries right now, fear for his job ain't one. Would DA love to be a starter in the league? Sure. But he knows he won't be the starter here and yet he keeps signing contracts to stay. Cam is absolutely not gutting it out because he fears DA would outplay him and steal his job. Cam is a hyper competitive player who doesn't want to let his teammates down.

tbh, they make it hard to be a fan.

honestly life is too short to have to deal with this kind of frustration. you just have to question sometimes is it actually worth it?

i'm not giving up yet, but if this mess doesn't get straight heading into next year i might feel differently. i'm just getting tired and this has been a very rough year. i needed the panthers to help make the year more tolerable, but it hasn't been at all. fortunately i still have my wife, 7 year old daughter, and now 3 month old daughter to help. i guess i should have been satisfied. with that.

I hear you man.

Honestly, I've just removed pretty much all expectations, I don't even get that upset anymore, it isn't worth it. Maybe it's just that I've been come accustomed to being dissapointed. The sad fact is that it is a legitimate question to ask if winning comes first with ownership.

I think you completely missed the point. What QB wouldn't want to start? It's called being a competitor.

Regardless of who is starting, they would support each other. Anything else you are attempting to inject is only in your mind.

Anyways, it's pretty much a moot point to even worry about who is behind center right now until we actually address our OL.

gettleman doesn't have to say anythi g to the public, but he should stop his moronic coaches from throwing their franchise QB under the bus.

when this season is over, i fully expect gettleman to own his mistakes in regards to the OL and secondary. and i expect him to make it right.

I also expect him to fire the coaching staff.

Much as I like Rivera, it'd be pretty much inexcusable to allow him to stay in place after this MCF of a season.

agreed. he and that staff should be gone. they've lost the team. you don't come back from that.

It is sad, because this team is even worse than its record.  We are very much still capable of making the playoffs, but somehow Rivera just completely lost the team in the last few weeks and the very idea of us pulling this season together is impossible even to our most optimistic posters...

I'll agree on the OL. I'm not injecting anything. You made a point to say they were close as if that was a reason that Cam wouldn't be worried about losing his job to DA. Think what you may, but with things going the way they are everyone on this team should be worried about their jobs, even Cam. There is certainly something going on with this team and I wonder often if its a combination on the coaches losing the team and the team losing confidence in Cam. Hang around someone with the body language and sulkiness that Cam displays at times and you too would lose confidence in him. It's a snowball effect, one its starts to creep in it just gets worse with each occurrence.

This team is becoming the Jets southern style. Circus starting to develop with this coaching staff and F.O., players saying one thing, coaches another and the whole season imploding under a terrible team. At teast Rex is funny and emotional to a degree....Ron is just here.

DA is not a starter, he was a dropped INT being ran back for a touchdown away from losing the opener to the 1-8 Bucs.

The imaginary sulking, that again? That's what you're worried about?

Not the team getting blown out, our defense being one of the worst in the league, having one of the worst OL's and offenses in general in the league, our coaching staff being inept at developing adequate gameplans or making in game adjustments, or information leaking to the press?

Guess we're done here.

We weren't talking about all the issues with the team, we were talking about Cam. I said there were other issues, but you choose to be a homer and zero in on defending Cam as if he isn't part of the problem. Anyone that opens their eyes can see the sulking again so don't act like it's not reappearing and is certainly part of the problem. I've said it over and over agin, RR pushed the leadership role on Cam way too hard. It's not Cams fault, but he is not a natural leader and RR should have seen that. The issues are obviously deeper than just that, but I have never felt Cam should be a captain on this or any other team. Leaders lead regardless of the circumstances and Cam is too quick to become the Mr. Mopey Head that even RR has called him.

If there is any "sulking", it's with the entire team. They all look dejected. Which games are you watching?

"Leaders lead regardless of circumstances". To what end?

When your team is getting literally dismantled from top to bottom week in and week out, leadership is not going to fix that.

That speaks to a disconnect between coaches and players. They don't buy into the gameplan.

By your flawed logic, why haven't Luke, TD, or CJ been able to "lead" our defense to play better? See how ridiculous you sound?

The fact that you are still bringing up stuff from 2 or more years ago speaks volumes.

I'm not bringing it up because its not happening. If it wasn't happening it wouldn't be a topic anywhere. Cam may one day become the QB some think he can become, I just don't see it happening here.
