We know are tackles are piss poor. We dont need to dwell on it forever as it isnt going to change this season.

You right, the OL is the unit and the Guards have to help the Tackles cause they can't hold their own, leaving their own guy to get through

I had such high hopes for Amini Silatolu going into the season but this had to be done.  He looked just miserable last week.  One of the worst performances in Carolina Panthers history, up there with the Ken Lucas in 2008 performances.

 

I know a lot here don't like Amini, but he has never been this bad before, even as a rookie.  So, that makes me wonder if he still has lingering effects from last year's injury, in addition to the calf issue this year.  I just don't think he was fully recovered when the season started, and probably should have started the year on the PUP list. 

 

With that said, I think we need to see what Norwell has the rest of the year to make sure he is up to the task of long-term starting OG.  I don't want to go into next season "thinking" Norwell can do the job only to realize there was a reason he was undrafted (in other words, I don't want another King/McNutt situation next year).  We need to settle the OG situation because our main focus has to be on OT.

Yeah, I think losing Gross definitely hurt Amini.

We need these two to workout out. If we could sign a good tackle in free agency and get a top two LT in the draft we could go from worst unit to pretty damn good
