Ran a simulator... Please let this happen...

X- New Orleans (6-10)

-Due to playoff formatting an 11-win Dallas team has to play on the road against a 6-win Carolina team.

-New Orleans ties Carolina win 6-wins, and even beats Carolina 2-0 head to head, but lose the division due to NFL tied game rules.

-Defending champion Seattle misses the playoffs at 10-6.

-Baltimore misses the playoffs with an 11-5 record. They loss tie breaker to 11-5 Pittsburgh for final playoff spot. However, Baltimore held tie breaker over Cincannati but got screwed because of their tie against Carolina. If Carolina had beaten Cincy, Baltimore is #3 seed. Carolina essentially screws Steve Smith out of the playoffs. He gets to come home to Charlotte and watch the team he trashed all season play in January.

-Carolina defeats Dallas yet again in the playoffs.

-Carolina loses the next week in Arizona.

The shitstorm to follow would be worth the lost draft positioning and embarrassing loss at Arizona. Carolina would have essentially screwed over the NFL's three biggest darlings in SEA/DAL/NO and Steve Smith. In the offseason the NFL would eliminate ties and change playoff seeding, no more automatic HFA for division winners.

Carolina can get in with 5 wins which would make it even more funny.

If we could go into the playoffs with 6 wins, go on a run and win the Super Bowl and be known as the worst SB champs of all time, well that would be just fine with me.

Hell, just watching people yell for changes and seeing Goodell fug up football even more with some knee jerk reaction would be so special to watch.

I ran the simulator and got us the #2 pick.  I could not justify three more wins for the Raiders though.

With the way this team is playing, even IF we were to somehow win out I wouldn't want to see this team in the playoffs.  We'd just end up getting embarrassed again.  That #2 pick is looking mighty fine though.

At this point if the decision is between going to the playoffs and losing in the first round or missing the playoffs, getting Ron Rivera fired, and having a top 10 draft pick… We all know what we would choose.

What is the point in winning your division where everybody sucks only to retain your terrible head coach and go through the same crap next year?

Let's not be delusional and think that we are going to beat even Dallas as a wildcard coming into the Charlotte. The other option would probably be Detroit… What are the odds we beat them twice in one season?

If you get a top three or four draft pick you could turn that into a Washington/St. Louis situation where you get a ton of value for a pic that you don't really need. That could turn into an OT or legit safety in this class with two more #1s next year.

With DGs eye for draft talent getting two additional 1st round picks (one in 2015 and one in 2016) and an additional 2nd rounder could be a franchise changing deal. Move down in this years draft and you could STILL probably get a great offensive line prospect or take BPA. Then in the second you take BPA twice. It'd be exactly what this franchise needs as far as restocking the cubbard IMO. However...we aren't that lucky. We'll end up winning just enough games to give us a middle of the road pick and still somehow miss the playoffs.
