I like Moore. Granted, Cantwell has a future and I like that it might be with us.

As for the McCown/Moore thing, I think it sucks that folks are favoring McCown just because he played in more games. If that was the case (not giving someone a shot other than in desperate situations) then we would never see a fresh QB.

I am a Jake homer but I also like to see Matt get more reps.

I think it's Fox that has put that position there, not really sure if it has anything to do with Moore's performance in practice. Just the veteran rule Fox has. If Jake were to get hurt, Josh would be on a very short leash, b/c Moore has proven to an extent that he can win in Davidson's system. I think we are a better team than last year, overall, but it will depend on our QB play how good we will actually be. I hope all options are open just in case Jake does not get it done. I don't want to be sitting 2-5 before a change gets made, if indeed the losses were to be on the QB.

If Delhomme was so good, why didn't he supplant Aaron Brooks as the starter in New Orleans? He had ample opportunities to do so. To tell you the truth, the fact that he hadn't been able to steal the #1 spot away from Brooks was disappointing.

No. Warner was never drafted, he sucks. Actually, look at him as a Giant, he did suck. But last year, he was an MVP candidate. Drew Brees sucks, the Chargers chose Rivers over him. Brady, he must be horrible, he did get drafted, but not til the 7th. He couldn't even overtake Drew Bledsoes spot until he got hurt, what a horrible QB. I could go on.....and on....and on.

That was the excuse two years ago. Moore has learning time now and already has some experience. What's the problem now? The leg injury that already has had time to heal? Is Moore's play that bad that going with McCown's super-underrated veteran "experience" is actually considered the better bet?

Preseason just started. Moore has his chance to prove he's better than McCown now.

Exactly...Moore doesn't look spectacular in the preseason because he is largely playing with guys that aren't gonna be on the team...put delhomme with those guys and you will get the same result...what matters with moore is the way he came in when called upon and delivered two victories out of three chances against playoff teams

Everyone knows our team is built on the run so without Dwill in the backfield and a strong running game, our passing game is going to suffer

I mean, Moore must be pretty damn good seeing as how he can beat a journeyman QB for the 2nd string QB spot.. oh wait... and of course Moore looked bad with a 2nd/3rd string offense, because Cantwell looked pretty horrible with his 3rd string WR's. OH and yea of course

I was big on Cantwell even before the season started, but please folks.... he made like three good throws and was pick six against to end the game.

Pick 6? could have swore it was a fumble return for a TD and his throw looked no different from the millions of times delhomme and other QB's have done it, he just had bad luck.

Just wanna point out that his fumble return wasn't a throw or it would've been a pick 6. So it looked very different from times other QBs have thrown picks.

Its really not that big of a deal considering we are talking about our #3 QB. However, all I am saying is that we felt the need to TRADE for McCown last year in order to solidify the backup QB job. That doesn't speak very highly of Matt Moore's ability to step in during a time of need. I have always like Cantwell and until Moore shows me he can supplant Josh McCown as the #2 or at least put up a good fight then I think its time to give someone else the chance...Thats all.

And those of you who are saying "lets take Moore because he beat some starters." The guy went 2-1, had a 67 QB rating, a 56% comp pct, lost 2 fumbles, and threw 5 INTs to just 3 TDs. This is something that I am basing COMPLETELY on potential...something of which I personally feel that Cantwell has more.
