Recapping: When asked if he’s lost faith in ST coordinator Richard Rodgers, Ron Rivera replied, “Why would I?” Then Jason Williams is cut.

No question Williams and Ben Jacobs screwed up Sunday. But Rivera bristling over questioning Rodgers when ST has been bad all yr …

And again, I ask where Gettleman is in all of this? He is allowing Rivera this much freedom when he's supposedly on his way out? I don't like the way things are looking.

Furthermore, Williams has been a big ST player for us for years now, and I actually thought Rivera praised him in years past for all that he's done during Rivera's tenure.

And, I thought Rivera was quoted as saying that it was Ben Jacobs that missed his assignment. Regardless, if you have a player missing an assignment in that situation, considering this player has had three good years, then he has one bad game, and you just cut him??? These players were not prepared. In all honesty, even without the blocked punts, we wouldve lost the game. The team did not show up.

Of course he isn't going to go after his college buddy Rodgers.

Makes me question who is making these cuts.  Is it Rivera or is it Gettleman??

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
