The same Panthers that only barely beat the much worse Bucs because of a fumble inside their own 10 yard line.  Take away that play and we probably lose.  Nothing is easy with this team.

Guess we should take away the fumble that we also had inside our 5 yard line.....don't fumble and we win by multiple scores.

You can't cherrypick a stat or play.

I didn't say it was his first game. Just one of his first starts. That game was against Detroit.

You do miss the fact, there isn't 24/7, The Golden Calf of Bristol-like Media hype/Drone surrounding Bridgewater starts as Manziel's?

This is why, Manziel is equally scrutinzed when he sucks by fans who don't like him or don't care one way or the other, and just "call em, the way they see em".

So your saying people in the same peer group shouldn't be compared together?

Regardless of the hype he gets it's hilarious the lengths some of you will go to bash the kid.

The reason they talk about him so much is that people are interested in him. Teddy bridgewater isn't nearly as interesting as manziel. They get ratings. You'll have people lose their poo on whatever the kid does. "Grown" men.

Maybe I'm more rational than the lot of you but I wasn't ready to label him a bust before he even started playing or even after his first start.

If you take away our fumble on their 4 yard line, we win going away.

Of course but my point is that we didn't dominate them by any stretch and by most measures Cleveland is a better team so why would any of us think next week is going to be a cake walk?

I disagree.  We were quite dominant, getting to the redzone several times, coming away with FG.  A couple of those as TDs instead, and its a laugher.  They had 1 big play in the 1st half, but basically didn't get anything else going until late in the 4th.

TB Drives

Q1:

5 plays for 80yds...the one big play mentioned above

Q2:

3 plays for 4yds

7 plays for 22yds

7 plays for 50yds and a FG

Q3:

3 plays for -16

3 plays for -3

3 plays for 0

3 plays for 8

Q4:

8 plays for 48

11 plays for 80

1play for 0

I don't care about him doing blow and drinking his face off. I did some of the same poo in college. Looking at it from a football perspective he looks completely lost out there and his "athletic ability" doesn't look like it will transfer to the pros to compensate for his football acumen. Sure, give him some more time but I'll be surprised as poo if we see anything more than average. He may be able to break off some runs but he looks like a lost puppy out there

Sounds like you're describing most rookie qbs making their first starts.

The whole browns offense played like poo. Their system is set up to work off of the zone read pistol runs. Their backs didn't even get 50 yards rushing against the bengals shitty run defense.

I guarantee you the bengals were hype to get to play him first. They played way out of their expectations because they didn't want to be the defense that let him go off. I feel like he'll have a much better day against our defense.

I think Luke, TD, and CJ will have a few things to say about that, especially being a home game.

We have struggled all year in the 4th quarter so its not exactly like them suddenly moving the ball in the 4th was some kind of fluke.  Also, we have struggled in the red zone all year so, once again, its not like we performed much differently than we have in our other games.  If we could score in the red zone at an above average rate and not cave defensively at the end of games we would have a few more wins this season.

Other than time of possession, I didn't feel we were dominant at all.  Did we appear to be the better team?  Sure.  We had a couple of nice drives, we also had multiple drives that started on their side of the field that resulted in zero points.  That should never happen, much less during a dominating performance.  If they had any QB play at all they would have probably won the game.  It's a nice win with our backup QB but I didn't see anything that suddenly makes me think we are going to start handling a team like Cleveland with no problem, which was the sentiment I was originally referring to.

This is a case where I hope I'm wrong and we blow them out but I'm certainly not expecting that and neither should anyone else.

    • Teams do some super stupid stuff with mid-fairly good QBs. I think they are just absolutely terrified they will be stuck with a QB that is not the quality of the QB they have now, even if its someone like Daniel Jones. Lots of trash QBs go in the first round. I encourage you to take a look at the sad, sad list of first round QBs in the last 15 years.
    • No, it will be a raw 6'7" 17-year-old European who just played basketball for the first time in March and who the idiot GM "had first on our board." He'll play the whole G-League season, get in 42 games for the Hornets and average 1.1 ppg on 35% shooting. Been there, seen that.
    • We missed on Burns at his peak value. That’s the problem with trading for picks 2-3 years away (which people were convinced the Rams would suck by now and these would be higher picks btw). Each year away the pick is the further in value it drops. Fitt was clearly hired based on turning us around quickly. It’s one of the many reasons tanking isn’t really a thing as our player JJ is telling you in this original article. It would take the whole organization from the owners down admitting they aren’t winning soon with Burns and picks 2-3 years away having more value because that’s when we are still rebuilding. It would only make sense if Fitt had a longer leash and would more than likely be the ones making these picks anyway which you wouldn’t want. The question is would you rather have those Rams picks with the strong possibility of Fitt still being here or would you rather Fitt try to “win now” like he did and expedite his firing? Altering the timeline would affect more than just the Rams picks.
