Yesterday was pretty pathetic. During tailgating yesterday there were some Panthers fans in the parking lot playing cornhole with Steelers boards. Saw fans wearing Steelers, 49rs, Packers, Vikings jerseys. Then during the game had some old people behind us that tapped my wife on the shoulder and told her that she needed to tell my 9yr old daughter to sit down because they couldn't see. Our fan base sucks.

I saw a guy in a Pats jersey with the sign saying something about Cam not being able to drive. So, obviously, with a few silver bullets in us, my buddies and I swiftly reminded him of Cam DRIVING the football in, on and around the Pats on Monday night last year. He didn't have much to say.

Side note, this town, us, someone needs to do something to promote the home team. Even if it's just, "wear Panthers apparel and get 10% off" at bars or restaurants. I don't know, but it's a bad look to have transplants who come to our city and disrespect our team. What's the point in going to a Panthers game wearing a Steelers jersey? Shouldn't you be at home watching YOUR STEELERS!?

Ok, I'm worked up now. Geez, the Huddle's not good for my blood pressure.

Jerseys of teams NOT playing in the stadium you are at is a big stall peeve.

I mean it's been noted throughout the league minus like SEA, Pitt and KC this is a trend across the country.  San Diego, Cinci, Chicago, Houston, Indy, TB, ATL.  Fans of other teams go to more football games.

I really never see anything like that. Fans of teams that aren't even playing each other. Charlotte, wow.

The team owners who spend money on the product on the field, spend money to promote their team and stadium and spend money to make the fan experience more than just a plastic seat, $8 beers and a couple big screens are the teams who are filling their stadiums.

 

Go to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, go see some of the other stadium complexes that have hotels and restaurants within 1/4 mile of the stadium. Some even have the restaurants inside the stadium. Some offer hotel/ticket packages while other cities are working in a true partnership with the team. To call the relationship between Charlotte and the Panthers anything but "tolerable" is an exaggeration. If you try to stick the stadium renovation to the taxpayers of Charlotte-Meck County, don't expect the citizens to welcome you with open arms, regardless of how the final outcome turned out.
