2010 Seahawks, 7-9, wins the west, wins their home playoff game, springboards to what is still happening today

2010 Panthers, 2-14

2011 first pick in round 5, Kealoha Pilares, 23rd pick in round 5, Richard Sherman

The seahawks also have a head coach that has balls.

where was Benji drafted??? I think we'll be Ok if we're drafting outside the top 10.

Terrell Suggs, JJ Watt, Ryan Clady, Ben Rothlisberger, Earl Thomas, Patrick Willis, Odell Beckham Jr, and many others were all drafted in the range that we will likely pick if we win our next two and don't make the playoffs.  And I still want to make the playoffs, that's how valuable I think the experience and the opportunity is.  Wanting to lose however, is for the birds.  An ugly, stinky, pathetic, lowlife bird at that.

Here's the way I see it. You can find talent at 1 or 32. That's a scouting issue. Now, it's not probable that we'll make the playoffs and even less probable that we'll win a Super Bowl, BUT IF we make the playoffs we have a shot. Hell, look at the Giants a few years ago. They got hot and won the whole damn thing. Fug the whole lose for position. Let's win and keep winning. I've tried the whole pull for us to lose before, and come every Sunday I just can't do it.

4 playoff wins in 26 years before they win one as a 7-9 team. 5 playoff wins in 4 years since, including the big one. Bad example my @$$.

This has nothing to do with those 2 draft picks. Sherman did not win all those by himself. The seahawks could have also taken Sherman if they picked top 12, just like we could have. The difference was the people drafting

It's tough because Gettleman is proving to be an asset in the drafting and undrafted department. I would love a top ten pick but winning feels good. I trust Dave to round up studs and role players for us regardless of our position.

...but do you trust Gettleman to actually draft some offensive linemen?

Yes, because the armchair GMs in here clearly know how to draft OTs.

Drafting one or two OTs, in ANY round, would have been better than what the Panthers had at OT in the spring of last year. The line is playing better NOW, but it's too little too late. And they are still undrafted free agent type of guys. How long do you think that will work? Keep combing the trash heap "finding" OTs. I'll wait.

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
