Atl Falcons elite defense?

Am I missing something? I've been lurking on the Falcons message board, and just judging by their comments you think they have a powerhouse defense all the sudden.

One topic dedicated to their defense being the reason Carolina has no chance of winning sunday.

I'm all for having faith in your team and everything, but I think it should be based in some sort of reality.

It's *** for tat.  Our defense and there's isn't as good a match up as the offense is.  We have a little better defense.  Now, if the rookies continue to play as they have over the past couple of games, then our offense is lights out better than Atlanta.  This game boils down to who wants it most.

Funny that I think our defense crept into the top 10. Theirs, well I guess they shut down Eazy Breezy and think they are good all of a sudden.

Yeah, it's great that we've turned things around and gotten back into the top ten. For me, elite defense means top three.. top five at the most

Why did I get 3 stars where the word *** is suppose to be.  *** is not a bad word used in normal context.  Now if I spoke of a woman's *** or titty, then I can see the censorship.  But *** for tat?  What if I wrote it ***-for-tat?

We simply played Tampa, Clev and NO....

That makes whatever you are....to appear to be something better

Yea I agree elite is top 2 or 3 also. Even the Philly game the def played pretty good and have gotten even better since. We don't force enough turnovers to be elite this year.

    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
