Amazing how much things change when you don't start every game with a Deangelo run for no gain

On Rivera's quote about DeAngelo and chemistry, you guys need to relax. It's pure coachspeak. He's not gonna say that a career Panther playing would mess with our chemistry or it'd become a distraction and the media would make a story out of it.

I don't think Rivera is stupid. He knows that Stewart and the offense is playing well with Stewart getting the majority of the touches. He isn't going to ruin that going into our first playoff game. What we have learned from Rivera bad or good is that he will stick to what he feels works. I doubt Deangelo even gets a touch on saturday.

Exactly, people are freaking out over nothing. This is pretty much the same coach speak he has had about Deangelo the past 3 weeks.

Ron since 2011 has generally been blunt and truthful...

And last week he at least said we would continue doing what we had been doing.....and Williams ended up inactive. He could of said that again. He didn't

DeAngelo had a cast on until last week.....that wasn't coach speak. Williams is getting healthier and now he isn't claiming we will continue to do what we have been doing

I still find it funny people act like there are these huge holes now every down...

Meanwhile Stewart turns what should be losses and no gains into solid runs every week. Yes there is now a rare nice hole....but it is largely 28 not being 34 that makes the difference

Your logic is what scares me....that means Ron trots him out, kills our O early, they get forced away from the run, then we lose. You know, what happens in the games Williams plays

I am not saying there are huge holes every down.  Stewart contrary to popular belief did get tackled behind the line of scrimmage a few times.

I find it funny how everyone constantly says how much the oline has improved the last few weeks and how both the run and pass blocking are much better, however they insist Dwill would look just as bad as he did with Chandler and Silatolu poo poo platter.

Im not discounting Stewart's running which has been awesome the last few weeks.  He hasn't been on the exercise bike since the beginning of the year.   He makes runs that no other back on our team can make.  That being said Dwill is not the Byron Bell of running backs everyone tries to make him out to be for some unforeseen reason.  Unless you are factoring salary for some reason which everyone seems to when ever the subject of Dwill comes up.  Arguring that Dwill shouldn't start over a hot Stewart is valid. Saying he should never see the field again?  I don't understand.

Rivera is just being respectful of DeAngelo. He's an all-time great Panther. Rivera's actions are what you should look at, not his PR coach speak. DeAngelo could've played the last week or two. Rivera has made a RB change without saying it.

Ron doesn't really do fake talk....which is my worry

Overall what he says...happens. I don't feel comfortable assuming otherwise

DWill got pissed at someone on twitter this week said "stay hurt, Deangelo" because it was about his health. I think I agree with most. I don't want the guy hurt, i just don't want him on the field and there is a difference.

Wouldn't Fozzy also be active because of kickoff returns or would they sit him for Williams and give all returns to Bersin?

    • Sure if you just blindly look at stats, you can pinpoint a couple areas that look similar. But come on man that's lazy analysis. Instead of throwing lower percentage throws, Dalton held onto the ball unconscionably long, leading to several of those sacks including that unthinkable one at the end of the first half, inflating his completion percentage. Bryce for all his flaws, does a pretty good job of escaping pressure and scrambling for 5 yards or throwing it away. Dalton's pocket presence was just so incredibly bad today, which led to both of his lost fumbles. If Bryce would just hold onto the ball and get sacked every 3rd play instead of throw it away or try a contested pass, his completion percentage would be 15 points higher than Dalton's today. And Bryce only had more yardage in 3 of 7 games? You mean when we played run heavy schemes in our wins, instead of Dalton being forced to throw all game cause we're getting blown out?  Look anyone is more than justified in arguing Bryce Young doesn't have the tools to lead this team to a super bowl. But he has been head and shoulders better this year than what Dalton showed today. That was just an abysmal perfomance.
    • 100% correct.    we also have a team that is completely incapable of responding to adversity. The first sign of trouble and the team just unravels. I think that says a lot about coaching more than anything. It can also be explained with the amount of youth we have playing key roles on offense and defense.
    • He's not elevating anyone around him and will never be that kind of qb. He is what he is. He will always need a good team around him to play his best. His best is not a game changer but game manager. If you accept that then you will understand what the outlook is going forward.
