Panthers = Smoke and Mirrors

You guys are still a 7-8-1 team. Not trying to talk smack, but objectively you guys haven't really done anything to be respected by other fans. You beat the Saints(terrible team), Browns(Mediocre), Falcons(terrible team) and the Cardinals(they have no QB) on your run.

Why are you so surprised that opposing fans and media don't think you're all that?

While I agree they haven't beat any one to gain respect from the league or media. I think the team has to beat Seattle to get that respect. on the flip side, they didn't just beat the Saints, Falcons and Cardinals....they smoked them and squeaked by the browns.

There is some truth to this and there's also some truth that we beat the Falcons and saints 75-13.

Those two teams dropped major yards and points on teams the weeks leading up to our

Matchups. They may not have won those games but they were moving the ball and putting points on the board. It's safe to say our defense is working on another level right now.

Seattle will be the big test. We beat them, I will firmly believe we can make it to the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks are not the same team as last year. They are very beatable and will be expecting the same defense they played here in Charlotte months ago. shhhhhhh.... don't let them know.

Yeah, solid defense and pounding the ball is "smoke and mirrors".

Catch a clue.

Couldn't stop laughing!

Yes the Falcons are terrible, as you just suggested. But we all recall you before the game telling us how they were primed to take care of business only to get blasted out of the their own building by a far superior team that you are choosing to downplay despite playing strong right now. Take away that last play of -19 yards, but still hold a team to 97 total yards in a game? The previous week that same QB had over 250 passing yards against the 9ers in the first half. Something must be going right.

They have some level headed fans in that thread.  I don't think either team should take this game as lightly as some of the fans are (from both sides).  It will be a dog fight.  Looking at this game objectively, you'd have to favor Seattle for two main reasons...they are at home and our special teams are inconsistent at best and god awful at worst.  The thing that worries me the most about this game is special teams play.  If our special teams can play competently, then I think we have a good shot...otherwise, we're toast.

Disagree. Greg's the best of them but Baldwin and Kearse are currently better than Benji. Plus their OC > Shula.

Greg/KB are more productive than Baldwin. Cotchery and Kearse are pretty similar players. Kearse has a higher yards per catch this season than Cotchery but Cotchery has more yards and targets. Lafell had a better season than Baldwin this year. Baldwin had 825 yards and 3 touchdowns.
