Panthers Top Off-Season Priority

Coaching or players?

Generally speaking, OC needs to be priority number 1.  Player personnel will be BPA, as that's DG's strategy.  The rest can be found in FA.

We have to START AT THE TOP, and that's with an OC.

How can a QB have the best starting two season in NFL QB history and then regress to a bottom 5 QB?  A:  Hire Mike Shula.

Rivera isn't going anywhere, but I so expect staff changes to be made. Sadly I think Shula is going to avoid the chopping block. Which is a shame. Cam does need someone to work with him. His mistakes are no doubt magnified by the horrible play of some of his teammates, poor coaching decisions (lol why was Bersin even on the field) and stupid coaching as a whole (stupid play calls, trying to run the clock out down 2 scores) but with all that said, he has areas he needs to make strides. Primarily below the waist, as he's grown considerably from the waist up. He has got to address his footwork-it affects every other part of his game. Yes, even the poor plays that look like mental mistakes are often a result of him simply not moving his lower body into position quick enough to get the ball out quickly.

Ken Dorsey is not the guy. Mike Shula is not the guy. It's get someone new there who can work with him there or just give up on him as a whole and find a vet so they don't have to do their job.

Our d line was hurt badly today by lack of a pass rush and our rookie secondary was exposed - we need help everywhere on this team starting with special teams and offfensive coardinator - rivera ought to be poo canned but he wont be so that is a moot point.  Hope fully g man will jettison the crap players and we will  also get a PR/KR that can do more than bobble the ball as he falls to his knees after signaling a fair catch.  We need upgrades just about everywhere to compete with teams like the Hawks and New England.

Obvoulsy Bersin has got to go. Sub par receiver and terrible return man. Benjamin looks like he will be great and Philly Brown could be a pretty good deep threat, but we need an upgrade from Cotchery and Bersin.

Byron Bell has to go. The rest of our line has rounded into shape and our two rookie guards give me hope for the future, but Bell is horrible.

In the secondary we need an upgrade from Harper. He makes some plays and around the redzone (where he doesn't have to cover much ground) he can be ok but he's too slow and old to be effective.

If Hardy is found not guilty we should look to see if we can resign him, if not then at least losing his cap hit should be helpful.

I love Williams as a player and a person, but if this is the year we can finally cut him without major penalty we should do it.

Replace Shula and Rodgers

Draft needs: LT, WR, S

Am I crazy in thinking maybe Carolina should bring back Chud as OC?  Cam had one hell of a season under him in his rookie year.

Actually since you guys are a considerable threat to the Seahawks with a slightly improved offense, I hope you keep Mike Shula for 20 years :D
