And ofcourse I get the typical response with no valid arguments to disprove why im wrong on DA. Ok let me put it this way, in your opinion is Cam Newton worth 145 million?! Its a yes or no question because he will NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT settle for anything less. Especially now with a playoff win

No but I think he wont demand that.

Name one single thing I said was wrong.. DA looked great in his two starts.. FACT. Cam is not worh north of 100 million FACT. You guys act as though I suggest trading Cam for Ryan Lindley or something

Looked great? What did the team average in points his two starts? Like 18 against a bad Buccs team.

Cam loses to seattle in seattle in a playoff with this offensive receiving core, and now we are talking DA? Jesus...

There are a number of Panthers "fans" who were happy that the Panthers fielded this WR team...that way they can moan about Newton not being any good.

Great against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers...

He isn't a full time QB. There's a reason he's a backup in the NFL.

Guess you have not seen who has a SB Ring and who doesn't. Guess you have seen who was MVP and who has not been. Guess you have not seen who has a better QB.... never mind its not worth you stupid answer.

And i guess those guys won SB rings before they had to deal with this current Seattle team which is WHO we are talking about here. And the fact that you have to compare HOF QBs to Cam to slight him just shows your stupidity more than i ever can.

lets be honest. wilson makes some awful decisions. they're just turned into good decisions because of his accuracy and it seems like a lot of times because of blind luck

his luck will run out one day. there is no way he can sustain this over a long period of time. he'll accidentally run over a dog or something and karma will come crashing down.

Newton will get paid whatever the market demands he get paid. Manning, Dalton, Rodgers, Ryan, Romo, Stafford, Kaepernick, and Flacco have large contracts and their team still figure out a way to get them talent.

Luck will ask for somewhere around 25-28 million a year. Should the Colts demand he take a hike? What about Wilson? You don't think he will get a nice paid raise? Tannehill? probably...

Even on Newton's rookie contract, the Panther's can't figure out a way to keep players like Bersin off the field.

Anderson is a backup, and should stay one.

Ok, so last year the Bucs where just as bad as they are now, so to be fair..

Cam against the Bucs in 2013;

67% completion

484 yds

4 TDs, 2 interceptions

98.5 QB rating

7.99 YPC

DA against the Bucs;

66% completion

500 yds

5 TDs, 0 interceptions

100.5 QB rating

6.85 YPC

But yet Cam is obviously head and shoulders above Cam and its not even close, am I right?!

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
