Byron Bell

What did he say? I didn't hear that part on NLFN.

He said the play wasn't blocked right, which caused the hesitation/problem. When you look at the replay, Bell didn't even attempt to block Bennett. Not really sure what he was doing.

Yeah I saw that. It wasn't a case of getting beat, it was a complete breakdown in communication or mental error. To me it looked like a read option with Bell trying to slip out and lead block for Cam. It was an ugly look. We had another guy come unblocked from the other side on the first drive in a similar mix up. Bell looks like the obvious offender but we don't know. We had 5 guys blocking three on that play and Bell out waiting for something that never happened.

Im not a Byron fan, and we do need a legit LT, but he held his own much of the time working with a better group with more consistent people around him

Yes hes a third stringer living a dream, but he didnt play as bad as people say.

Ummm who am I kidding. He repeatedly got abused in the second half. He whiffed some blocks that cost us about as much as Tolberts big drop for a crucial first down or about as bad as Rivera letting 15 seconds run off the clock when we had a chance to sling one for a touchdown.

Hes Fua on the otherside of the ball.

But he tries.

He is now an UFA.

It makes me giddy.

He really looked like a blindfolded kid trying to hit a pinata tonight.  He seems to have no football common sense.  He costs us a holding penalty every game, usually surrenders a sack.  This time, his suckage caused a fumble that led to their first TD.

Mike Remmers did not have a good game. Sounds like you are scapegoating one guy because of deep seeded angst.

And it sounds like you are reaching, Mike remmers approved our line a lot this SEASON and was upgrade over Nate freakin Chandler. He wasn that good tonight, but Forget this game, he was a big reason why we got to this far in the first place.

I agree. He was better than the guy he replaced. But that hands to the face and a few missed blocks were not good tonight. Not hating the guy. But you cannot tell me he had a better game or season than bell. He had a better season than Chandler.

    • "I'm not stunned," Hansbrough said. "We talked about it at halftime, you asked me 'you have to be pretty happy.' And I said, 'No I've seen this story before.' I've seen this happen. They just had some lapses in games where they just go still offensively, defensively. Their competitiveness just drops a little bit. They never step on anybody's throat. When they have a team with a little bit of a lead, they never step on the throat. It's been something all year." The only disagreement I'd have with Hansbrough's assessment is that it's not limited to just this year. It's been Hubert's entire tenure. Hallmarks of Hubert's teams are: streaky shooting, streaky focus, running your starters into the dirt because you won't sub, and absolutely embarrassingly bad plays put of timeouts. It all points straight to the coach. When the roster keeps changing but the core fundamental issues keep recurring, it's not the players.
    • Leafs are broken. Out of the playoffs and Matthews done for the year.  It's either a very dangerous game against a team who doesn't give a fug and will leave it all on the ice, or a team who's thrown in the towel with an effort to match. And, yes, I'm sitting in the Miami Airport waiting on my next flight. Will be back in Lenovo both 28 & 29 for the b2b.
    • I’m guessing this counts as top 30 visit.
