Ravens are clearly not happy with the 'declare yourself ineligible' thing.  Seems like a situation where the Pats found a loophole, and are going to take advantage of it until the league creates a rule to make it illegal.

the question is will it remain that way, or will rules be altered. either way, it's currently legal regardless of whether it's taking advantage of a situation.

They didn't do anything illegal as the rules are currently defined.

However I'm of the opinion that declaring a player with a # in the 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s or 80s ineligible is not the same as declaring a player with a lineman # eligible. Especially if you don't give the defense time to adjust.

Looking at that picture though, it's hard to tell who is actually on the LoS other than the center and 2 receivers. The RT is almost even with the inside receiver on the other side. 

 

These are the only 2 rules I could find on where exactly guys are supposed to be lined up at the snap. The RT appears to be more than 1 yard back from the LoS. Not sure if it really matters or not where actual oline guys line up since it isn't exactly defined. 

 

1. Offensive team must have at least seven players on line.
2. Offensive players, not on line, must be at least one yard back at snap.

At the snap of the ball, Robinson stepped back from the line and held his hands up for the ball, continuing the ruse. Greene lumbered up the left seam, and quarterback Blake Sims hit him with a pass. Gain of 24, to the LSU one-yard line.
