Hurney on Pats: Culture of Cheating

But it was apparently purposefully ignored.....

You're misreading the title of the article. The "Panthers" that ignored the dangers of steroids are the Panther players not the front office. There is no mention anywhere in that article that the Panther team doctors, training staff, or front office knew they were visiting Dr Short or doing anything illegal.

Face it, they knew our signals in that game, and probably the other SB wins. There have been multiple people on our team at that time who have said this. We almost beat them anyway, sucks because if they didn't have that info we probably would have won.

I think Seattle now is doing the same thing. They admitted how they knew Mannings signals and in our game they jumped so many routes. Then in the GB game I noticed the right switch all the time.

The Pats have been slimy for too long.

i will say that it wouldn't surprise me that pete carroll takes a few pages out of the billacheat book.

i wouldn't be surprised if dan quinn does as well. if the falcons have a drastic turnaround in their D production after quinn is hired, it could very likely be that it wasn't done honestly.

Since Carroll joined, Seattle players have been busted 7 times for PEDs. Most in the league. Their "culture of cheating" is as strong as any team in the league.

It's not clear from what I've read if it was something that stopped after Spygate or not. I'm doing some work but if people really care I can try to find some of the stories later.

Pats fans don't care. Most of them think they just do what everyone does. Maybe they're right?

Remember before spygate, Brady's helmet always looked like it sat really high on his head? But after spygate, it fit perfectly....

I'm not sure what you're alluding to but if I'm wrong, I'd love you to point to out to me. Read the article and point out the "Panthers" that ignored the dangers of steroids. All the "Panthers" mentioned were players. No mention was made about Panther medical staff, training staff, coaching staff, or the front office. Don't let being a Patriots fanboy cloud the facts.

Yeh, this will be Juice Gate after the Seahawks put the Patriots down and theres a new Superpower in the universe,...

Actually its going to be concluded that the Patriots did nothing wrong and the balls were inflated to 12.5, minimum and the temperatures brought the pressure down.

The NFL is about to release this because the Colts balls were inflated to 13.5 but still deflated too, just not enough to go under,....

the whole 2 pounds under thing was bogus. It was around 11.5-12 so 1.5-2.0 psi under the MAX.

Just reporter spin- got what they wanted. Rednecks everywhere calling for the South to rise up, put in white hoodies and burn down Boston.

Meanwhile, the reporters are all getting rich off of some capitalistic conspiracy to make more money for their advertisers on one of the most boring weeks of the year,....

Post a link or it's just more noise that means nothing since you have zero credibility telling the truth concerning this issue.

    • I personally think you are trying to talk yourself into circles here... It's ok to say Bryce played incredible the last 5 weeks... I know there are plenty of people on this board who desperately need the doom-and-gloom narrative, but I genuinely question how much NFL QB play some of these people really have watched when they still question him being the unquestioned starter for next year...  Again, that being said, no one is crowning him at all. I think Bryce is one of the best stories going into 2025 bc his season last year was so outlandishly unprecedented. It's totally fair to personally not believe in Bryce. Plenty of sports "journalists" need to write stories, and that's an easy narrative path... But I think that actual people in the know rank Bryce much higher. That's the fun thing about sports... we shall see!
    • Regardless of how we got here, any rational fan should be excited by how well Bryce played down the stretch. Anyone not happy about that level of play either doesn't know what they're looking at, or they're still trying to drive tired narratives. Obviously, Cam had an all-time rookie season, and I'm not putting the two in the same basket yet, but as someone who has watched every snap of Panthers football since the start of the new millennium (Im old), Bryce was playing at a higher level at the end of 2024 than Cam was at the end of 2012 (his 2nd season). Cam continued to develop into MVP form, something Bryce has to prove, but as someone who watched both (and will stan for Cam always), Bryce was playing at a higher level to end year 2 than Cam did.  Go watch the film if you dont believe me. None of that means anything for the future. But the people who said BY9 couldnt play in this league are wrong.   That being said, the only thing that matters is this year. #20 is perfectly fair IMO going into the season. I mean think about it, how would you rank him??!  His in-season turnaround is one of the wildest things I've ever seen... how do you rank a guy who looked like a massive bust in September and by January was consistently playing at a top 10 level? My excitement level is pretty damn high heading into this season. There were throws from the Chiefs game onward where Bryce had Drew Brees levels of anticipation. Im excited to see what he can do with a full deck on offense, something we really never gave Cam. Really hope and expect Bryce to move up this list this season.
    • Not really, the only QB's (other than Anthony Richardson) ranked below him are new to their teams as a placeholder starter or drafted in 2024 or 2025, not a lot of gymnastics to get there. It's not about how many that is, if it's 20, 12, or 2... It means there isn't a QB who's team has committed to them for the long term right now that they have ranked below Bryce. That's not a great thing.
