Rivera reassigns special teams coach Rodgers, promotes DeHaven

So is this Gettleman basically forcing Ron to make a change at ST coach, or did they come to the conclusion together? Either way I'm happy because it shows Gettleman won't settle for mediocrity or Rivera is actually learning.

Just an FYI-

RR was on the radio the Tuesday after our playoff loss and said that their schedule going forward was......

to get the players their final interview and get them out of the building, take a week off and then...............

self scouting and self evaluation.

Looks like their right on schedule.

There isn't anything legal you can do to stop that,. is there?

Maybe a coach should tell JJ to wait a second longer to snap the ball after getting the signal? Have to have forward momentum to pull off a jump over the line... seems an easy enough fix to me.

someone tell me why this is good, I mean, its the same people.  If you slice up a turd, rearrange the pieces and put it back together, its still a turd, right?

You see, sometimes, at the McDonald's, you accidentally get the fry guy working the register, and the register girl working the fries. No one wants that. Bi***es ain't makin' no fries.

Yeah, I guess the snap count thing is the key. But I almost wanted an lineman to stand up taking the penalty and take him out. It would have been worth the penalty. I doubt they would change snap counts on the field.

Well aware, including what he did at Buffalo a few years ago.

However, he's not with out his question marks (age, not lasting on recent teams/being dismissed, coming from Rivera's failed ST staff). So we'll see?

All coaches have questions.

His resume' is a strong one. Heck, there was a time when he was considered one of the best in the league.

    • While I agree with you in spirit my gut and my heart says I'm not falling for this again until I see consistent results across the entire upcoming season. Then I'll breathe a sigh of relief and truly feel better about the future.
    • After some time to process and also in light of other small markets being successful and not requiring top overall picks to compete. This years finals looming large. While I readily acknowledge the league office clearly despises our franchise and has absolutely no qualms about us getting the short end of any stick in the draft lottery. The Hornets may just be doomed regardless due to their own mismanagement and inability to draft and develop legitimate playoff worthy talent. And we seemingly always pick the wrong player in the draft. I mean at this point we can even take a hard look at the 2020 draft and someone like Haliburton going pick 12 while Ball went 3rd. Did we draft the wrong guy or are we just that inept at any level of talent development or is it a mixture of both? Looks the latter right now.
    • I feel we are already moving in a better direction before we even take a snap this season.  We have hope now.  People are talking about us brewing something special. Remember how dismal things were when Rhule was here?
