Breshad Perriman, WR UCF

Breshad is a height, weight, speed, specimen that is going to kill the combine. listed at 6'3 214 pounds, this guy is a huge deep threat target. Breshad has NFL bloodlines, being the son of Brett Perriman, former WR for the Lions and Saints. has a rocked up body, with huge arms, and upper body, plus the large hands to make him lethal catching the ball. does win in contested situations, and can climb the ladder when attacking the ball

explodes off the LOS, and eats cushions up with ease. has quick feet, to help when releasing off the LOS, and  will blow the top off a defense. forces coverage towards his way with deep speed. can also win running the short and intermediate routes, and shows decent YAC ability once catching the ball. has improved every season stat wise, while also becoming a better route runner. sinks his hips when running routes, and can maintain good speed put of his breaks. will gain separation with speed, and body.

one weakness to his game, is drops. Breshad would be a 1st rounder in my eyes, if he didn't drop so many balls. he will make beautiful catches all game, but drop the routine ball. some media draft guys, got him going in the 1st, but i just cannot see this. i currently think he has a 2nd - 3rd round grade, and could be in play for the panthers during those rounds. i have seen some compare him to Dez Bryant, and Kenny Britt, but i see a poor man Julio Jones when i watch him.(could be dreads, and same number 11)

since it is so many ECU fans, i will leave this here.

another good route, and play. comes from the Fiesta Bowl vs. Baylor

lined up in the slot, Baylor comes out in man coverage, with a safety guarding Perriman. he comes of the ball, and runs a quick out route.

the safety begins to drive on Perriman, closing up the separation to make a play. Perriman explodes out of his out cut, up the field on a double move( out and up), and blows by the safety in coverage. vertical speed is being exhibited on this route.

he finishes the play, by extending his arms, and attacking the football at its highest point, plucking the ball with his hands (hence why some say he is a natural hands catcher, and not a body catcher) looking the ball all the into his hands. also check out the separation he has on this route.

I was waiting until someone made a thread for him. I didnt know much about this guy but after watching some highlights and doing some research, he seems like a beast. Ive seen him already mocked in the top 15 so not sure we would have a chance at him.

Kiper has him going 1st round, and Gabriel said he thinks he go 1st round. all boxes check off, besides the hands for me. 2nd round is great value for him i think. i will break down some plays of his later. I'm a fan of Perriman tho. he has 2 games up on draft breakdown, but I watched Blake Bortles cutups to get a good look, of him progressing.

Just saw he didn't receive clearance to workout because of a pulled hamstring. Bummer. Was really looking forward to watching him today.

He's going to blow up his pro day. Still think he is a realistic target at 25 as well. Have a feeling we will have our choice between Devin Smith, Strong, Agholor, and Perriman if we decide we are going WR.

Pro Football Focus Steve Palazzolo @PFF_Steve

UCF WR Breshad Perriman had 7 drops on 54 catchable passes

(12.96%). Ranked 81st of 91 qualifiers

Rotoworld: "That is terrible. The sample size might be smaller than others, as Perriman dropped seven of 54 catchable passes, but PFF has a tendency to side with the receiver on what exactly is "catchable." Perriman would have generated more buzz if he worked out at the Combine and still has a shot at being a late first-round selection, but very poor drop rates tend to carry over to the NFL"

    • Think the "official time" put out was 4.48, but there were a lot of scouts there who of course all had difference times as it's all handed timed by them.  Think I saw it as low as 4.43 and as high as 4.62 or something, but in the end it's all basically the same speed because 40 yard dash is so pointless. Anyone who complains about his speed is just someone who wants a Chase/Jefferson/Nabers style #1 as opposed to an Evans style #1 who isn't going to beat you because of his speed but his other abilities. In the end, he's fast enough for a player his size and surprisingly quicker and more agile than people give him credit for too. The real problem is that Panthers fans can't get our past big WR failures out of their head, they hear "big WR" and automatically see a plodding KB or Jarrett in their minds and assume that's also T-Mac.
    • If you are buying Silver Club, 300 level, try and the buy ones that have the Lot 1 parking pass.  it is steps to the stadium Also, buy on the shade side my PSls used to be section 342, under the overhang.  I didnt care about sun or rain plenty of sites have interactive  maps that can show you   Just know, if they are opposite side of 342, the sun will beat on your head…endzones too.   if, you know for sure that you are going, and you need a hotel room, do it now  you can always cancel … remember, even if the panthers suck,  the national press follows them as do their fans.  Hotel rooms go fast for that game
    • didn't he run like a 4.52?
