Greg Hardy only one attending DWill's mother's funeral

My unemployed friends are usually down to go to spur of the moment events moreso than the ones that have to go to work.

I think that explains more why Hardy went and nobody else did. He was suspended in the middle of the season and could easily go while others had to actually work.

Love Greg but DeAngelo forgets that people can find out Greg is from Memphis. I'd venture to say it was slightly more convenient for him than anyone else in the Panthers organization.

good point. still dont think it takes away from the gesture.

The funeral was in Arkansas, not Memphis.  I'm sure there were other guys that were outside of NC and possibly in that area of the country as well (Texas perhaps).

You do understand that Memphis borders Arkansas... right?

You understand that Hardy wasn't necessarily chilling at his hometown when it went down and rode his bicycle down the street to the funeral, right?  It's not like it was Hardy's neighborhood that it happened, it was still out of area for him regardless of where he was, and it's probably more likely he was in NC (where he lives now) at the time.  Just as easy to catch a flight from Charlotte to wherever in Arkansas as from Memphis.  Maybe an extra hour in the air....

Something's not adding up here. Hardy attended, so why haven't we made him the highest payed player in the league yet?

I'll tell you why. It's because his domestic violence case took attention away from Deangelo, that's why!

Hardy needs to be kept on the exempt list indefinitely for this egregious lack of judgment.

The funeral was in May....roughly a week after Hardy got arrested. Nothing happened regarding that until Sept. However, DWs mom died the day or two before rookie mini camp so the coaches and staff were busy that week.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
