salary cap released

Captain Morgan

Saints have two restructures that will save them 15 million roughly and those restructures were kinda planned.

Yup. But how much restructuring can the do? How much cap hit can you keep pushing to the next year?

So much dead money for many of the players as well as high cap hits are giving them fewer and fewer options. I believe one or both of their pro bowl guards may be gone this year as well as one of their starting wide receivers. Also, both guards have a fair amount of dead money.....they'll still be in this heap next year as well.

The saints really aren't as in bad of shape as people would think. Their fans seem to think they can make quite a few easy moves and get under the cap pretty quickly. We'll see though

bolded the important thing to note in this comment.

reality says otherwise.

Really? Salary Cap was my all time favorite player. Wish him the best wherever he goes, he was one of the greats to ever put on a Panthers uniform.

Honestly, salary cap was #2 to antenna ball. Nobody has ever been better than antenna ball.

They have several players with roster bonuses due this year. By converting these to signing bonuses they can free up about $20m without having to let anyone go.

Saint fans are about as intelligent as a lawn dart.

so yeah roster bonus conversions will bring the Saints under the cap

Kinda sucks they won't have to make as many cuts as we thought, but the silver lining is the same crappy players we whooped will be there again

Just saw this and it may have been discussed elsewhere but apparently much like AT&T and rollover data there is now rollover CAP space. This article outlines every team's new Adjusted CAP with whatever they didn't spend last year.

To make clicking unnecessary:

Side note...this is another reason I "don't care" so much about paying Cam 23 million a year or so. Rising QB contracts, with a rising cap, will help absorb a little bit of the sticker shock. Not to turn this into a Cam contract thread, which I probably just did.

I highly doubt Cam is getting 23 million a year.
