Draft prospect OT DJ Humphries has 2 visits lined up with CAR

Shot up draft boards. Local Charlotte kid. 5 Star Recruit. Great athlete, projects as a left tackle. Plays nasty and with a mean-streak. Needs to show that he can add weight and sustain that weight. Injury concerns, needs to be coached up.

There's a large thread on him in the Draft section for anyone interested. A couple guys like Daniel Jeremiah have him as their #1 tackle prospect.

every team needing OL help are gonna be interested in DJ.

only a handful of OT's look the part of a LT, and DJ is one of them.

I agree and would totally be cool with him.  Peat and Clemmings worry me about starting at LT off the bat.  Collins, Flowers, Fisher, and Humphries though I'm cool with.

I don't know why anyone would not want him unless they care that much about his arms being 1/4" shorter than many like.

He's a natural LT and will most certainly be gone by the time we come up at 25.

Don't be fooled with all these mock drafts having La'El Collins and Ereck Flowers picked ahead of DJ Humphries.

Those guys are right tackles and will be taken after DJ.

I am worried about this as well.

I like Fisher also. He has the size and athletic ability to be a natural LT.

Praying one of them is on board.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
