Panthers Are Signing Safety Kurt Coleman Per Voth

4.55 at the 2010 combine.  Not slow for a S.  Was a SS at Ohio St.  I am guessing he plays SS here.  It all depends on read and react time anyway, so 40 times for DBs can be very deceiving.

So did Decound and Harper. That's means they're not slow either? Its crazy you said react time, that was his problem coming into the NFL

Did not read the entire thread, and I have not seen the terms.  Frankly, I do not know how we can praise a signing until we see terms, but maybe I am still dazed by Hurney's bankrolling of players.  He was asking the Chiefs for $1.5-$2m per as their #4 S.

I am guessing we got him for $2.5m over 2 seasons ($1.25m per).

How many guys in the NFL are not from big school and better competition??? Lol

You act like this is the first time Carolina is starting to look at bigger school. Both Norwell and Philly were UDFA, not even drafted. Ginn and Coleman are free agents. None were drafted by Gman.

You have a stupid answer for every stupid question. That's all you do on here.

Uh huh

Take a moment and look at the schools that last year's draftees and undrafted players came from.

You might notice a pattern.

Harper's 40 time was (according to the source I read) 4.65.  I saw 4.58 and 4.55 in other places, but I think they were estimates.

I knew nothing of Coleman before 20 minutes ago, so I assume you were familiar with him.  Interesting to see about the react time, because that scares me.  Where did he get that evaluation, college or pros?

How does Gettlemen find players that don't exist until we sign them?  I didn't know him, and when I research him, I see 30+ starts, 10 ints, etc.

Doesnt exist? I knew who he was. I remember him starting at Ohio State and being with the Eagles.

His draft profile was inconsistent reaction times and lack of recovery speed and that wasn't that long ago. Special teams decent signing, but if they actually planning on having him being our starter at safety smh. It needs to be addressed in the draft and not the way Gettle been patching it up since Mike left. Tre, good drafter. Now need to go find another one particularly in the 1st round

And it hurts what Trent Richardson bum ass did to him.

Need of LT and WR > Safety.

Carolinachuck is like that one kid that you don't want so you go on a trip to Florida and leave him in the Everglades hoping he will be eaten be an alligator.

    • Maybe a bit of a homer take but I can't give us a grade lower than A.   Freeling was arguably the best LT prospect in the draft.  His athletic ability is off the chart and at 6'7" that can move.  It was a no brainer pick.   Hunter's key word is Violence. Putting him next to Brown should scare an offensive coordinator. These two give Scourton and Phillips plenty of chances to get one on one opportunities. Brazzell, another tall receiver with sprinter speed.  Our WR room is filled with tall talented WR.  Brazzell is going to give us a WR that can take to roof off the defense.  Basically Jimmy Horn with size. W. Lee III has a nickname of the Blanket. (heard this on the Beleav podcast with J. Stewart)  What a great name.  A great value in the 5th round. Hecht A strong, fast and extremely smart center. Many had him listed as the best center in the draft.  He's most likely a starter sooner than later. Wheatley A good safety in round 5.  Someone who could see playing time.   Kuwatch  I love this pick.  At minimum he will be a key piece on special teams and with some good coaching he'll see some packages where he'll play.  His down piece is he doesn't stay up in the running game.  Good coaching will fix this.  He reminds me a bit of A.J. Klein.   All these picks were great value.  I believe everyone of them were graded higher than the pick we took them.   Dan Morgan is IMO doing a great job turning this team into a good team with great depth.
    • Moton is a class act.
    • Sure, that is possible. That’s what, an extra 55 yards a game on average and 7 more TDs? What if he’s just 15th?  I imagine they would extend him in that situation due to the belief that he’ll keep trending up. maybe a 3 year contract to prove he can be top 10? Sounds like a Tepper plan.
