Veteran Combine

Moorgan

Recommended Posts

Article is mainly about how The Golden Calf of Bristol and Vince Young were NOT invited but it goes on to list all of the guys who were. Assuming a solid combine from some of th guys, does the Huddle see any one guy or guys that DG might swoop in to get?

We get a bonus combine and secondary free agency from this and it starts in 6 days (22 MAR). However, I don't think it will be televised...which is dumb. What else is NFLN playing right now besides reruns of old games?

Kinda what I expected to be honest.  Everyone who has a market isn't going to bother with this thing.  It's basically a last gasp opportunity for guys looking for another shot.

So you think the only guys that come out of this signed are guys that have a remarkable or surprising showing at it? I assume all teams will have people there to witness it. I mean why not right?

Yeah, pretty much.  Virtually all of those names are guys who have been shown no interest in the free agent market and they're looking for a way to get their name back out there and get back on the map.  I would assume every team would have people there because, like you said, why not?

If you're a veteran player and there's any type of market for your services, you're best served to stay away from this thing.  Preparing to put up good numbers at a combine style event takes a lot of work.

As opposed to the view on the actual draft, I'd keep an eye out for the smaller school prospects. Most of those guys are highly touted and given their chance earlier than a small school prospect meaning that they tend to be trending downward while small school guys have never gotten their chance and are finally getting a chance to show their ability.  No Names really stuck out, but with Gettlemans nose for talent, I wouldn't be surprised for us to take a flyer on someone here, particularly on the Lines.

I agree. This seems like fertile ground for DG. Just not sure who.
