I don't get Robinson. Fox told him two years ago that, if he wanted to stick around, he would have to stop jogging around when he's returning punts and K/O's. What does he do this pre season? Yep, he was jogging again. It's a shame, because he seemed to be coming around pretty well as a WR.

most likely a WR or a LB. my short list of cuts that might be made:

....

18--- Chery, Jason--- WR

IMO I think we should keep Chery around for a little longer if possible, I feel like when I saw him in the first pre-season game that there is some potential there for him to develop into a good WR.

I think we will cut someone at LB.

Not to sound like a member of the tinfoil hat club, but part of me thinks that if it were just a standard camp fodder cut, it could have been done already. Still might be, but I wonder.

Delay could mean that it's someone they're taking longer to decide on (possible) that they're talking trade (not all that likely) or that there's an injury settlement in progress (the most likely of the bunch).

i don't know who we have that we could be working an injury settlement on. i know i hope it's salley and/or landon johnson but i don't see that being the course the team takes with them.

from what i understand they have to have sustained a serious injury that would keep them out 6 weeks or more. i know the team doctors can fudge this but they have to get 2 second opinions form outside doctors.

who else is hurt that could be out for a significant time that is a long shot for the team or who isn't likely to or shouldn't make it?

i'm asking because i don't know.

From Gantt's blog about first cuts (link):

Also out Monday were RB Decori Birmingham (head), CB Dante Wesley (head), S Nate Salley (knee), RB Jonathan Stewart (excused, personal), FS Charles Godfrey (hand) and LB Jon Beason (knee).

Stewart, Beason and Godfrey wouldn't be candidates, though Godfrey could be a possibility for IR. They might be looking at how to replace him before putting him there, but I doubt it.

Salley seems the most likely of the bunch (Brad mentioned him too) though Birmingham and Wesley are possible, with Wesley seeming less likely.

Could it still be just a run of the mill cut that's taking longer? Sure, but why would it?

yep...i think with this we are set at WR on the roster

smith

moose

jarret

moore

I'd like to throw Goodson in this mix as an X factor. Put Dwill and Jstew in the back field with Smitty and Moose flanked and Goodson in the slot. Godda get him the ball in a sneaky way....

i agree salley is the most likely candidate. he's also the one that would be most worth bothering with as far as going the injury settlement route is concerned.

i hope it's him, though.

    • Wide Receiver: Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers – 85.3 One of the more shocking developments of the 2025 NFL season has been the Carolina Panthers’ ascension to the top of the NFC South, which they achieved with Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers. Perhaps nobody has made a bigger difference than former eighth overall pick Tetairoa McMillan, who continued to be a steady presence in the Panthers’ offense. McMillan caught six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the win Tight End: Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers – 91.1 Evans only saw the field for 16 snaps, but he was efficient in his limited playing time. He caught all three of his targets for 23 yards on just six receiving snaps while also grading well in pass protection (72.2 grade) and as a run-blocker (68.4) Edge Defender: Nic Scourton, Carolina Panthers – 77.9 The former second-rounder out of Texas A&M has been a force along the Panthers’ defensive line, and he was a key contributor in Carolina’s huge win over the Buccaneers. Scourton recorded two stops as a run-defender and added another while in coverage. Scourton also tallied his sixth sack of the year while contributing another pressure to the mix Safety: Lathan Ransom, Carolina Panthers – 75.7 Another Carolina Panther on this week’s list, Ransom has typically been stronger in run defense — he carries an 85.2 grade in that field on the season. But Sunday against the Buccaneers was his best day in coverage. Ransom intercepted his only target, which wound up being the game-winner that put the Panthers in the driver’s seat in the NFC South
