My favorite WR's options after the 1st round..

KB had a lot of risk too. KB failed two years of school and got held back twice which is why he was so much older than his fellow peers in college. Also KB had plenty of other character and work ethic concerns both in high school and college (so did Randy Moss. Heck, Calvin Johnson tested positive for weed at the Combine). But both Proehl then Gettleman sat down with KB one on one for a few hours and felt comfortable with him (plus we have a whole staff doing background checks and character research). No telling what they ultimately decide on DGB.

 

We were drafting a football player, not a future PhD candidate.  Classroom performance doesn't necessarily mean anything to NFL teams.  Hell, they know a lot of these kids are just in college to try to get to the NFL.  There's no interest in the academics at all. 

 

Legal issues off the field though?  Yeah, that's a big deal.  Especially with this team.  JR just spent over $13M last year on a player who sat at home almost the entire year.

If it was a track and field event, he'd be a top 10 pick.  Unfortunately the guy couldn't catch a cold if he was sitting naked in the arctic. 

 

then you really know nothing about Chris Conley who has good hands and catches the ball away from his body the way good receivers do. Catching the ball is not an issue  with him. so do some DD before you judge by a 40 time.His weaknesses are mainly technique issues and strength but those can easily be remedied. Soft hands , smart and fast. He will be a good WR in the NFL.

but he didn't drop everything in the games he played , he pretty much caught everything. his college production had more to do with Gurley than drops. He has good hands , he has good skills just played in a run happy offense but the projection obviously is he will be a better NFL wr than he was in college. so no he is not  just a "track" guy but a late rd gem. So who is your guy/guys of similar rd projection?

Jordan Taylor and Kenny Cook are tall WRs that we could get in the mid to late rounds.

He has good hands , he has good skills just played in a run happy offense but the projection obviously is he will be a better NFL wr than he was in college. so no he is not  just a "track" guy but a late rd gem. So who is your guy/guys of similar rd projection?

McBride is going to be a very good WR depending on what team takes him..

He has the ok size good speed and great hands you look for in a Wr... And watching his tape he runs every route in the tree and is good at getting separation. . He is a deep threat who can also high point a ball. Other than Agholor he is my favorite after 1st round Wr and one of the WR I'm sure will make a impact day 1...

I honestly can't think of to many negatives with McBride other than not being 6'2 or taller and playing at a small school. . Other than those he has a lot of check marks in his game.n

Exactly. Jerry would get destroyed in the media if he drafted DGB after the Hardy fiasco happened last year. There is a 0% chance he lets that happen. That decision is above Gettlemans head.

Georgia ran almost twice as much as they passed seeing as how they had two of the better RB in the country.

Hell, I can make a highlight reel for Sammie Coates and he probably has the worst hands in the draft.
