Seahawks GM hints he'll just let Wilson walk if he doesn't lower his demanded price.

i'm sure if you took a nationwide poll, it would not be "only on the huddle"

wilson is known as a game manager by pretty much everyone who isn't a seahawks fan

Wilson is inconsistent game to game but he's not a game manager, You put him on a team with better weapons and we would easily put up around 30 td.

Almost every sports media outlet has Wilson as a top 10 QB. But he's a game manager.....

You can't compare RW to Cam.  RW has largely been a game manager during his NFL career while on the other hand, Cam has largely been asked to BE our offense.

that should tell us a lot about how to proceed. at this pt the game manager has won 2 SB's. great D with a shutdown secondary and a power running game with mediocre yet serviceable rec corp.

  We need CB,S,OT,and Todd Gurley.

it's about time there's another huddle Wilson jelly thread!!!

I love the comments about how Wilson has better numbers because he has so many more weapons than your #1 pick...fug those make me laugh!!!

those incredible receivers like Jermaine Kearse and Riccardo Lockette...annual pro bowlers for sure!!!

No receivers...all their eggs in the run game basket and yet he's 4-0 against you in his young career...but only three of those were in your stadium!!!

All I'm saying is that Cam carries a much bigger burden in our offense than RW does in the Seahawks' offense.

In his career, Cam has accounted for 23.7% of our rushing carries at 7.5 carries per game and a whopping 46.5% of our rushing TDs.  He's done this while also averaging 31 passing attempts per game.  He's personally responsible for 71.7% of our total yards and 72.8% of our total TDs.  That is hurt by the fact that he missed two games last season.  Accounting for those two games, those numbers jump to 74% and 75.1%, respectively.

Russell Wilson on the other hand has accounted for 19.6% of the Seahawks rushing carries at 6.4 carries per game and 22% of their rushing TDs.  He's done this while averaging 26 passing attempts per game.  He's personally responsible for 66.6% (because he's the devil) of the Seahawks total yards and 66.9% of the Seahawks total TDs.

I'm not really exaggerating when I say that Cam truly IS our offense.

All his eggs were in the Cam throws a game winning TD in the dirt, DeAngelo Williams fumbles inside the 10, and a league takes away 10% of the cap over, well, nothing, basket.

In all sincerity congrats, you guys have had more impact players make a few more impact plays. No different than the Pistons/Bulls of the 80s/90s. GMan with more $$$ and more draft picks and we're soon gonna put on the afterburners. Good luck.

Let's be real, Jimmy Graham makes the Seahawks a MUCH scarier team.

Totally disagree. He can't block and their already weak line lost it's anchor and leader. Their cap takes a huge hit and they have no 1st. I loved the trade and honestly believe it weakened both teams and what they like to do/who they are.

back to the OP I think they will work it out unless they feel lightning can strike again . You have a "game manager" who has managed to win the biggest game so I don't think they would part unless they already have another plan to fill in the gap. I say he stays and signs a back loaded incentive laden contract that gets changed well before it runs out....or they trade him to the bears!LOL!

They're not bringing in Graham to block. He is another target for Wilson. With LBs biting on play action, it leaves a good zone for Graham to work.

Maybe so.  We'll see.  Hell, I hope you're right.

With that said, they aren't bringing him in to block.  They're bringing him in as a legit #1 receiving threat and redzone target, two things they sorely lacked last year.

    • Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers
    • While it's fair to question how impactful a player's relationship with a coach is (especially if someone has questions regarding said coach), it's important to also evaluate the difference between the players here. Jordan Fuller was pick #199 in the 6th round while Justin Simmons was #98 in the 3rd round. Jordan Fuller might have gotten a Super Bowl ring while he was with the Rams, but he got it while on the IR. Justin Simmons, on the other hand, is a x2 Pro-Bowler (2020, 2023), x4 second-team All-Pro (2019, 2021 - 2023), and was the NFL co-leader in INTs (2022). Simmons has also fallen off in the last couple of seasons though, grade-wise. He very well might not be that same player, which could be why the Falcons have elected to replace him with Fuller. As far as getting the best out of what he has, asking him to produce with a starting DL of A'Shawn Robinson (63.56% of the defense's snaps), LaBryan Ray (51.48%), and Shy Tuttle (50.08%) isn't reasonable. Wonnum only played in 8 games, but had the second most % of snaps (37.27%) at EDGE behind Clowney (53.53%). The second-string DL based on snap % was... and don't read this if you just ate... Charles Harris (34.48%), DeShawn Williams (27.67%), and Nick Thurman (19.7%). The second-string EDGEs based on snap count would be DJ Johnson (32.27%) and Cam Gill (18.14%). With the investments made in the run defense this season though, especially on the defensive line, it's more than fair to demand a complete turn around from last season.
