I was posting my full 7-round mock on other forums for comment and criticism. I put the Browns mock on this thread on a Browns message board...

http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=149&f=4409&t=13816389

Here is the mock I posted...

1.12.12 - Devante Parker, WR, Louisville

1.19.19 - Eddie Goldman, DT, FSU

2.11.43 - Nate Orchard, DE/OLB, Utah

3.13.77 - Ty Sambrailo, OT, Colorado State

4.12.111 - Rory Anderson, TE, South Carolina

4.16.115 - David Cobb, RB, Minnesota

5.11.147 - Jeremiah Poutasi, OG, Utah

6.13.189 - Gavin Lutman, WR, Pittsburgh State (KS)

6.26.202 - Quandre Diggs, CB, Texas

7.12.229 - Clayton Geathers, S, Central Florida

And here is the comment...

OP, I'll trade you all 10 of those picks for Cam Newton.

Whens the last time the Brown's had a good QB?

I mean, not a *decent* QB like Brian Sipe or Bernie Kosar, but a really GOOD QB that gives a team hope?

Well, there was this one guy that had a Pro Bowl season, but I think he plays somewhere else now

I thought I saw where he started a couple games last season.

Probably won 'em both too. Guy is likely a stud. Must be why he no longer plays in Cleveland. Whoever he is we should probably take a look at him. Might be worth having a solid back up.

That's a decent draft, which means it's not very realistic.

Yeah, they're definitely drafting another QB high this year because, well, they're the Browns and that's just what they do.  I think they probably take a QB at either #19 or #43 unless they make some sort of trade to get one somewhere in between those two spots.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
