Adult Only Restaurants

Off on a tangent from Arsen's "Kid Friendly Restaurants".......

There are adult only resorts throughout the Caribbean, among other places, and there are airlines offering adult only seating. What about an adult only restaurant concept catering to a crowd seeking respite from kids who sometimes disrupt half a restaurant when they start screaming or throwing a fit?

I was eating lunch with the wife and mother-in-law on a restaurant patio in Surf City last week when a family of 4 came in. One little boy, looked no more than 3-4, let loose this high-pitched shriek that caught me by surprise. Before the kid's mother could even address the kid, before she even turned around to stop him, some lady at another table shouts, "Oh no! No screaming here, that is definitely not allowed."

I don't have kids and would prefer not to spend much time around them, but in this case, if I were the parent of that kid, I would have likely said something to the lady. At least give me the opportunity to address the situation and speak to the child before you decide to offer your 2 cents, okay?

I encounter more obnoxious adults at restaurants than obnoxious kids.

Kids need correcting sometimes, and if they don't respond to correction, the parent just needs to remove them.

Wish the same could be done to assholes.

Yeah but you can challenge an adult to the Field of Honor [emoji769]

And as someone who has worked in restaurants for a decade, I can safely say children should be banned from all restaurants. Bar none. Not even Chucky Cheese. Seriously. Stop.

Children are wild fuging animals that take anywhere from 18-26 years to domesticate. Until that time, they should be locked safely at home with their too-dumb-to-use-a-rubber parents!

    • It’s summer league, so take it with a grain of salt. But have to admit the team has played really well and been fun to watch. Agreed, take what we can get.
    • There are a very few number of legitimate NFL level QB's on this planet. I'm not saying he is not capable of being a backup still given that very limited number. All I'm saying is some people can choose to look at the reality glass half full or glass half empty. I'm relatively trying to remain near the middle. I do appreciate that he has experience with which he can pass on to Bryce. But I think his resume is being put on a level that does not line up. It's interesting you mentioned Flacco. I'd take him mentoring the Panthers starting QB in a heartbeat. At least Joe has won in the playoffs. And won a Super Bowl to boot. He might have only had success largely in that season but man what a run he led that offense on. I can respect that. I'm not saying I don't like or respect Andy. I do like him. And he's a ginger. But as a local fan who has seen losing losing losing mediocrity and a few very short lived seasons of potential greatness. Give me any ounce of greatness every time. Then we can hang our hat on mentoring at some level. That's my position and all I'm trying to convey. Thanks for the chat.
