Told the #Vikings "tried hard" to get OL La'el Collins . So did 24

other teams.

Now I'm REALLY surprised that he ended up on the Cowboys.  Jerry definitely put some money in a briefcase.

I see a few outcomes. One La El displaces a starter and gets paid more so it might make a lot of the other linemen pissed. Or he has to sit and realizes what a idiot he was and wants to leave. I know I'd be pissed having to play next to a guy making more than me.

Lastly how is any of this legal? He wasn't suppose to be allowed to be signed till after the 8th or even visit a team or their front office. On top of that the contract is more than your allowed to give..... How is any of this not against nfl rules? I forsee a investigation coming

Apparently next years OT class is gonna be much better than this year according to Matt Miller

I was thinking that earlier. Perhaps part of the reason that Oher was signed for 2 years...so there is some transition between the guy we draft next year at Rd1 pick 32 and Oher at LT. I like it and can get behind that plan.

If the Panthers front office was smart about this, they would have drafted Collins with a 7th round pick, and then signed him after he was given the green light. Just because you draft them does not mean you need to sign them.

Got to be smart when playing the draft if you are in need of a prospect.

I think Gettleman learned his lesson about the one year deals when both Ginn and Mitchell bolted for bigger money elsewhere after one decent season here.  If you can get a guy locked up for two years on low cap figures, do it.
