10 NFL players you haven't heard of who could impact 2015

Tre played better than any safety we've had in a few years, and he missed the entire offseason program and most of camp. Yeah he had some bad mental errors, especially against the Seahawks, but I have no reason to believe he can't be a longterm starter for us. Probably better suited for SS, but we have no one else right now. Would love to have some competition for him, but right now the job is his for the taking. Coleman will compete and may beat out Harper, but I don't see him being much better than Tre, if at all. Would be pissed if Harper is in at SS over Tre, with Coleman at FS. I just want the best guys on the field.

Tre does fly around but I've seen him Nakamura at least two passes that could have gone for TDs. One was a pass which Bene intercepted vs NO. Hopefully with full offseason participation, he plays very well.

I love Boston's game on the field

However, not enough is said about how much he has engaged with the community.

So far this offseason, it seems like hes at every Panther ran event.  Draft party, the opening of a new play60 park in Charlotte, among others.  He seems to really like Charlotte and likes volunteering in the community.  Seems like a high character guy with a good head on his shoulders to go along with his high potential

I'm root'n for him. He showed he can do it. now to lock it in on a constant level.

To be honest, we have a large amount of guys on the team that are the same way. They show they CAN, but how consistent they can be about it will be the question.

I'm jones'n for some Panthers Football updates. gawd! LOL Is it media Thursday yet?

Boston is definitely an upgrade at safety athletically. Mentally he could definitely improve, but you gotta remember he was just a rookie thrown into the secondary with less protection from the D-Line than in years past when we had both Hardy and CJ. If he keeps working hard and stays healthy I can see him sticking around as a starter for a solid career with us

i'm not sold on boston at all, but i also keep forgetting he missed so much of the formative part of any rookie's season. for a guy thrown into the mix so early on without all the tools he performed as well as you could hope.

he also benefitted from playing behind the best front seven in the league.

however it shakes up i'm looking forward to jeremy's camp coverage of this guy.

    • I'd hold on to Walker - we have no OT depth at all. Freeling is a block of clay - all the tools are there and he appears to have a great attitude. He needs serious work on his technique to realise his potential though.
    • From my watch last night: They weren't trading out of 19 unless it was a daft offer once Freeling got there. They were clearly antsy to get Hunter - and Minnesota actually called to offer the trade down. They weren't trading out of the third round pick once Brazzell fell to it (and Canales would have been happy with him in the second round). They traded back a lot on Day 3 - even if Morgan 'Babe Ruth'd' it with Lee, Hecht and Wheatley; they clearly weren't the only guys they would have taken at those picks. I'm curious to know which player caused the reaction at the start of day 2 (Dan Morgan): "of course they'd pick him"
    • Watching this confirms that this staff and front office is super high on Monroe Freeling. I wouldn't be surprised if he's gotta a real chance to win the starting LT job in camp. If he does, we can look to flip Rasheed Walker to a contender desperate for tackle help.   As for Ickey I still really like him and wanna extend him but based on how the staff was talking about Freeling it might be time for ickey to start taking some practice sets at guard if he wants to stay here as we are gonna have to have figure out a solution for the contracts of Lewis and Hunt.  My preferred scenario for the Oline in 2027 is Freeling-Ickey-Hech-Lewis-Moton.
