NFL may start punishing teams for player misconduct

In discussing the Ray McDonald situation, George McCaskey (who, ironically enough serves on the league's Player Conduct Committee) indicated that punishing teams when their players make a habit of getting arrested is an option that's 'on the table'.

I could see it for teams like the Seahawks who have 6 different people busted for PEDs in short order and it's obviously the culture of the franchise and needs correcting. But for isolated incidents, even if you get 3 of them in one year, it seems kind of foolish.

Side side note:  Morning will turn to afternoon quicker than anyone would have ever thought.  Greg got screwed by Old MacDonald.  10 might get pushed to 12 but...not my problem.  :)

Ehhhh it's a fine line.  For a first time offender of whatever conduct is broken, the team shouldn't be penalized. If they continue to employ the guy and he breaks rules again, penalize then, sure. Tough to determine which rules are penalized though. In-game advantages like PEDs or Deflategate, sure. Off-field incidents? Iffy. 

If something along these lines were to go into effect, you'd almost have to give teams the option to cut a guy or something and have his cap hit taken away in some form (NFLPA would be thrilleddddd I'm sure). 

If I screw up at my job and say get a DWI, I can be fired. Employer can terminate me and won't have to pay me anymore, done.  Because I make a dumb decision...doesn't mean the company should be fined or penalized. Even then, if I get another DWI...not the company's fault, so hard to justify penalizing them regardless unless it's a "work-related" type infraction.

Is it just me or do any of the rest of football fans sense a change is coming with the game of football?  Many fans are not happy with the product they buy when they go to games.  I read about grumblings of this and that.  I've grumbled myself after sitting for hours in the hot sun, paying ridiculous prices for food and beverage, reading about players that paid are paid exorbitant amount of money for little effort, etc.  I love football but is it getting too big?  Will there be an eventual break up of the NFL?  Is there going to be another league coming on the horizon?  I just have a feeling of change.

I wouldn't worry too much.

The change that I do you think you might see coming soon though is that it's about to become harder for guys who engage in criminal activity to keep jobs in the NFLNFL, and quite possibly a lot harder.
