It's funny, he went out of his way to say that completion percentage isn't just accuracy, which I'm not really sure what to make of.

I think it means that "accuracy" isn't just a QB stat, its a QB/receiver stat.

A QB can overthrow the pass and the pass is incomplete or intercepted.  That effects passing accuracy.

A receiver can run a lazy, crappy route and the QB places the ball right where it *should* be and the pass is incomplete or intercepted.  That also effects passing accuracy.

A QB makes a crappy throw and the receiver makes an amazing catch.

A QB makes a perfect throw right in the receiver's hands and the receiver flat out drops it.

These things effect passing accuracy.  Yet the "accuracy" stat is continually applied to the QB only whereas it is actually another TEAM stat in my opinion.

Also I can count on three fingers the number of receivers Cam has had in four years that I would call quality NFL-level route runners: Smitty, Shockey (for one year), and Olsen.

JMHO.

Stuff like this is why I always shake my head at the people who think the true quality of a player can be determined just by looking at stats.

If Carolina Carl is on this site..(he is a guy who called in after and always brags about selling his tickets to opposing fans.)

You need to die a horrible death, like having Brandon Spikes hit and run you in the middle of the night.

To keep it classy, of course....by death I mean like when you cease breathing and have zero brain activity.. but other than that I mean alive.

Now I shall insert cute picture to offset the dark nature of this post.

    • Rotating in Chuba was beyond stupid and really hurt our offense overall. We’ve been in a good rhythm the last 6 quarters or so but Canales figured disrupting that with Chuba would be worth it Rico fits this offense so much better than Chuba    As far as grades go I know that ain’t our RB1, starting Center and our supposedly deep WR room and exciting talented young TE in dead last. Weird. I wonder if that has any correlation on QB play  Even that first incomplete ball Bryce threw in the end zone that hit Legette’s hands. Legette had no business being there so early. Legette went into scramble drill when that ball was intended for Coker who led up because of the traffic there
    • Yeah Jets have pretty much been in every game they've played and have barely lost to really good teams. They are much better than their record says Imo
    • I kinda just wanna see what the offense can do with a QB who has proven he can move the football in the NFL. If Dalton wasn't a shadow of his former self I'd be fine with him but Father Time has definitely caught up with him. If we start piling up the losses as the schedule gets tougher and the passing offense continues to be anemic that might cast Canales his job and it's worth a very low risk move IMO to at least give him a fighting chance. The thought of yet another Tepper rebuild just isn't at all exciting to me having already seen a few of them. I'm about giving this current guy a fighting chance.
