Fantasy Football Friday: OTA Winners

He seems quiet, but I see this point.  I mentioned that my son's family are all Ohio St grads as he was signing my son's mini helmet at OTAs and he stopped, looked up as if he was mad, and then grinned.  I always put it into perspective when I see a rookie at OTAs--they are under a lot of mental pressure, especially a WR learning 3 spots at one time.  Most will tell you that their minds are blown at that time, so any relaxed, joking approach to fans is almost surprising.

Since you all are wondering, "Hey MHS, what about the others?", who was the most relaxed rookie we ever talked to at OTAs? probably Deangelo.  The most intense?  Greg Hardy.   The most confused?  Armanti Edwards.

I think the NFL media training throes these guys for a loop right away. Talk to Devin off the record just casually and he has a really great positive attitude.

I think I am qualified to say he looks better in OTAs as Kelvin did in his rookie OTAs. It is reasonable to say, based on that, he could be better than Kelvin long term.

I was not attempting to call into question your evaluation abilities. Though I don't necessarily agree with everything, I still respect it.

At this point everything is just opinions and speculation. Like I said, I don't care who is better, they each bring different things to the position anyway. People just look at their size, but there is obviously much more to it than that. I'm just not ready to make any declarations regarding KB's ceiling after only his rookie year though.

Let's hope Funchess can live up to some of these lofty expectations before he's even had a practice in pads yet.

The thing about Benjamin's season last year (he was being talked up for ROTY at one point), very few people here expected him to put up 1,000 yards.

I still feel you done really get a gauge on a team till pre-season when the real bullets start flying.  Just like last year we heard all though OTAs and TC that the line was solid. Then the real bullets flew and we saw cam get blown up by the Pats.

There's this guy, oh man his name just seems to have slipped my mind. He once said that the game isn't played in underwear.

Gee... what was his name.... sigh. Maybe it will come back to me eventually.

Well, what the hell does he know anyway.
