Have seen several questions as to why I left him off my roster.

At this point, I think he is far from a lock to make the team. A 30 year old corner that has spent more than a year out of football really has his work cut out for him. Do you cut a young corner with tremendous potential for a guy that is on the other end of his career and may not hold up?

He will have to do more than impress in camp and preseason to get a jersey, imo. Can it be done? Sure. Have to wait and see though before I am willing to take a young prospect off the roster though.

I'll just post a highlight video of him basically getting torched all game long.  One int that turns into a TD does not make this dude have "tremendous potential."

Exactly.

I especially love the one where Smitty ran right past him for the TD....with White not being within 5 yards of him.

Let me clarify....as he was beaten TWICE for TD's that game.

Pthat waling out a pic of Melvin as an arguement of his tremendous potential is like pulling out a pic of Dominik Hixion for the same argument. Gotta give more reasons than that zod

edit. Talkin bout the division win over saints for hixon

That was a pretty good analogy...

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
