The new Spider Man has been chosen

I'm glad Tom won the role. He's not as good looking as Garfield but not as goofy looking as Tobey so that's a pretty good medium. If he can capture Tobey's Peter Parker and Andrew's Spider-Man he'll be perfect. I really want Kraven to be the villain of the new movie. I can't believe that he hasn't even been discussed as a villain in any spiderman movie yet.

Kraven has been discussed, and more specifically the "Kraven's Last Hunt" story.

The problem I see there: While it's legitimately the best Kraven story available (and one of the best Spider man stories of all time) the impact of it is based on a long history between the characters.  You'd have a lot of trouble translating that to a movie where the character of Kraven is only then being introduced.

I have feeling Ant Man will a big hit, one of the better hero movies.

I could be wrong tho.

And I'm not a big Paul Rudd fan either

Early reviews are saying marvel has done it again. Supposedly it's excellent,

pretty genius move to follow the big team up movie with a "small," concentrated film.

This Spiderman needs to be made because it is part of MCU.

I was done with Spiderman after last couple shitty movies but this will he awesome because it will tie into the larger universe.

Can't wait

and his whole rogues gallery (one of the best in marvel comics, imo) is now available to the MCU

there's already rumors that an Oscorp building will show up in Ant-Man... and Matthew McConaughey was supposedly being eyed as the new norman osborn, which could lead to the REAL iron patriot post civil war, dark avengers, etc., etc... but those talks apparently cooled off

Can't agree.  Garfield was just as bad as those movies were.

Just to clarify, which "1 and 2" do you mean?

I'm gonna assume you mean the rebooted 1 and 2 because Sam Raimi's Spider Man 2 was one of the best superhero movies made (especially Al Molina's take on Doctor Octopus).

interesting opinion. i thought garfield was a pretty good spider-man and i thought spider man 2 with doc ock was garbage.

That's a pretty rare opinion.

Raimi's Spider Man 2 is pretty much universally loved.

probably because people got a taste of how terrible #3 was and wanted to go back to better times. i thought the first one was far and away the best.

i would rank them as:

Tobey 1

Garfield 1

Garfield 2/Tobey 2 (tie)

Tobey 3

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
