We went 12-4 in 2013 with ancient Steve Smith and LaFell as top 2 receivers

What happened 2 years ago literally means nothing. In the NFL, 2 years might as well be a decade in regular people's time. People just need to accept unless a miracle occurs and/or the NFC South is even worse than it has been the last 2 or 3 years, this will be a mediocre team that struggles to put up points at best, and a cellar dwelling team destined to pick in the top 5 (where Gettleman will probably pick a RB or DE because he thinks he's the smartest GM to ever grace planet Earth) at worst. Our defense will probably be good enough to keep us in the 10-20 pick range. Hopefully if/when are bad, Gettleman actually decides protecting our  franchise QB is worth it and we finally get a top LT prospect, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

This is more 2004 than anything. We lost our main weapon (smith) in the opener.

Jake developed great chemistry with moose who ended up having an amazing year. It took that team half a year to recover from the smith injury. Hopefully this team bounces back quicker.

Moose was already a legit NFL WR who had produced 1000 yard seasons without 89

Since "gettlolman" has been our GM what career LT have we passed on in the first round? Second round? Or even third?

How about FA LT that we passed on? The guy everyone was pissed that went to TB and got cut this year?

Those guys don't grow on trees, and if you have a chance to get one in the first round, it's likely because your team is picking top 5. (last time we did that we drafted Cam, Peppers, and Kerry Collins)

Our defense is not as good as 2013. That was the elite part of our team that year, and it made up for our WR corps.

could be....

LB corp and secondary could be better....

DL could have better DT play

Hardy was great but overall we could be as good just different

lol that guy you responded to didn't post for three months between the draft and today

wonder if he has an axe to grind about "gettlolman"

seattle is our litmus test for true success.

our 2015 squad with KB was good enough to beat seattle. our 2013 and 2014 squads weren't, and i don't believe our 2015 without KB is good enough.

i'm an eternal optimist but i see this pushing us out of whatever lofty deep playoff/superbowl aspirations we had.

KB is not that big a factor.  We lost last year because no one could get over the top of Sea.  He however would have been another reason we could win.

The defense is what worries me the most. The LBs will be overworked and not so great and the secondary exploited if we don't have that push(Star,KK) AND pressure off the edges. If those situations aren't handled soon we will get burnt by good QBs and get run on by average RBs. No Greg Hardy hurts and if CJ doesn't play 16 games we're toast and that scenario seems very likely. Star has a stress fracture(Yao Ming) in his foot and is 300+lbs. Politics aside our D line couldn't afford to lose talent and it was very shortsighted and reactionary what happened looking back.

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
