There is a lot of truth in this.  KB wasn't the reason the team began to win late last year.  The improved defensive play and the emergence of a running game were.

Not to mention a healthy QB. Defenses will have it easier without KB, but it still won't be easy for 'em.

You guys really have to stop saying this about the Seahawks.  RW is more accurate than Cam is and their defense is arguably the best defense of the past 20 years.

If you're talking about our receiving corp, your use of damn good is completely wrong.  I would say average at best.

But we are built the same way. Just because they do it better doesn't mean we aren't built the same way. The seahawks aren't undefeated, they can be beat, we just need to figure that hump out and beat them.

I'm not talking about the receiving corp. I'm talking about guys like Luke, Cam, Star, KK, and Norman.

This narrative is old. Doug Baldwin is a baller! Kearse just comes up big in big games.

66 for 825 for 3TDs

50 for 778 for 5TDs

Those are his stat lines the last two years. If that's baller status then Brandon Lafell is an all-pro.

He's a good solid receiver. I fail to see how someone on our roster doesn't meet those "Baller" stats this year. That includes Olsen.

They can be beat, but until this team proves otherwise, hard to see how they do it

To your second point, that makes much more sense.

I'm willing to bet Funchess meets those stats this season. I fully expect him to show out now that he is our "WR1"

Teams are going to be all over Greg Olsen now. We know this. Ginn may only be a #3 or #4, but his speed will certainly command some attention. Then we have Corey Brown for more speed. If Byrd can make a good case for himself in preseason, he also will likely be out there. Boykin too. Then we have Cotchery, and Bersin to move the chains.

We just need our run game to get going. Luckily we have some good competition in the backfield this year.

This will open up some nice opportunities for Funchess, who as the season progresses will eventually command his own attention from defenses.

He does what's called of him in that offense, which seems to be almost always when the game is on the line (and LaFell pretty much did the same for NE), but I get your point.

The thing is though, within your point it's kind of implicit that you're saying "all things being equal".  The fact of the matter is, we still have Shula, Rivera hasn't proven better than Pete, and our redzone efficiency continues to look like preschool compared to the Seahawks'.

seattle struggled in the red zone last season.

The trump card to any argument about our offense:

"Yeah but we have Shula"

their passing attack is also a west coast variant with emphasis on power running ala mike shanahan.  i keep seeing people bring up the seahawks as an answer to the loss of what is arguably our second most important player on offense but the comparison really isn't that close.  our defense certainly contains an elite position group and has top five potential but the seahawks defenses of recent years are on a different level and you could make a case for them being in the same league as the 2000 ravens and 2002 bucs.

yeah maybe spiritually we're similar to seattle but mike shula is still running the offense.  even if he was good at it his philosophy is still different from what seattle wants to accomplish with their passing attack.
