Dean Marlowe - a UDFA who is under the radar?

Earlier today Bill Voth at BBR tweeted the following:

If a UDFA is going to make the roster, Dean Marlowe appears to be the frontrunner.

That surprised me given that Marlowe, a free safety, has hardly been mentioned here on the Huddle.  We've been obsessed with Wegher & Ward, and Byrd to a certain extent.  We've also focused on Cox, and perhaps Redden and Miley too...  Heck Marlowe didn't even make Jeremy's "youth movement roster projection"

Yet I've learned to respect Bill Voth's observations.  Also, Marlowe got high grades from PFF for his performance in both the Bills game and the Dolphins game:

[I'll add the link for New England grades once they are published.  I'd be surprised if Marlowe's name is there however as I don't recall any play of his from last night.]

What's are the pros and cons of keeping Marlowe on the 53 man roster?  Who would he replace on Jeremy's roster projection or youth movement roster?

Why is he flying under our collective radar, yet getting good grades from PFF.  Anyone have highlights of his plays?  I honestly don't remember anything specific.

Given the attention he's gotten from PFF, what is the chance of stashing him on the practice squad safely?  Are safeties in high demand?

Colin Jones.

You can't cut him. Plays safety, special teams, buffalo nickel.

Could almost see them counting him a CB at this point.  Unless I'm forgetting someone, he's the reason Carolina only carried 4 CBs into the playoffs (White, Norman, Bene, Byndom), though they could view him as a safety again now that CB depth has improved.
