It seriously took this long for a fugin WR to figure out and say "Hey guys I promise I'm going to catch with my HANDS today"

Where else in the NFL is this absurd WR play found....anywhere...someone point me there so I can feel better.

I see Boykin stinks it up during practice but is a gamer and lights it up on game-day...we've seen these practice heroes before...rather have a gamer.

That's my point he's been putting in the extra work and he still can't catch. Depressing

I guess you're depressed about Benjamin too since he led the league in dropped passes last season with 10. And if anything about sports really depresses you then maybe you should rethink your priorities.

an offense that had three new starters on their oline, not a single starting receiver, and without their biggest offensive weapo , Gronk.

You're right though, we dominated.

Whoopie.

I have yet to understand why people like you come here just to complain. I'm sorry your life sucks so much I really do.

And yet you made the assumption that with the exception of beating a TE for a sack, Ealy contributed the minimum and that he earned the starting job by default. (Never said that---was referring to the honesty of Rivera's comment--who is making assumptions here?) Don't feed me that 'reading comprehension' crap. (It is an accurate description of everything you said I said--depicts a lack of understanding the written word--a reading comprehension issue, until the error influences your actions--then it is worse)  Ealy flashed against The Dolphins and played a solid game against The Patriots. (OK, back to football and off me, but back to the original argument.  A solid game nobody denied.  Enough to crown him the starter?  If he were blocked and made a sack, I would feel better.)

That's more than enough for a second year DE.  (Have you forgotten the run plays in the Miami and Buffalo games that went to his side?  Have you forgotten the times he was stonewalled by the OT?  Are you really saying that beating a TE on one play and going unblocked on another is enough to make him a starter?  Ha!  I say there is not enough to make him the starter, but Rivera is giving him his vote of confidence--please tell me that you do not take Rivera's comments about players at face value)

Here is what you don't get---It is not enough to give Ealy the vote of confidence that Rivera was giving him-the same one he gave Bell.  If you evaluate a DE based on what we saw from Ealy this preseason--basically a mixed bag, then you really don't have enough to give him a ringing endorsement.  He has been weak vs. the run and OK in pass rush.  He made a few sacks but was not really blocked on one of them.

Does that mean I rue the day he was born?  No.  It means I am being a realist.  The issue here was not whether Ealy is or is not what he is or is not, it was whether Rivera's remarks were accurate.  No, they probably weren't.  He said the same kinds of things about Bell and Chandler last year, which is why people question his praise for players--it was motivation, not analysis.

Now, just to be clear, I know you saw the "Bell and Chandler" reference and are ready to make a statement that I compare Ealy to them.  Not remotely.  I am analyzing the manner in which Rivera give praise to his players in the media.

If you really analyze what I said objectively, you would probably agree with me, but you missed the point from the start and .....here we are.

So yes, you read between the lines of my comments and were totally wrong about my intent.  Reading comprehension--the ability to understand what you are reading.

you've mistaken that i was complaining.

Not at all. I enjoyed the game.

Just bringing your statement a bit of perspective.  Yes, we dominated an offense that is a shell of what it is. Thise are the facts.

No complaining.

Thank God Ealy isn't a starter just based on preseason.

Then we were on equal levels and dominated them. Still the same, no matter how you cut it.
