Looks like Panthers have signed WR Kevin Norwood

dude can't earn the 5th or 6th WR spot on what many have claimed has been the worst WR corp in the NFL.....

Well, PFF certainly doesn't think that they have the worst receiving corps in the NFL

The Huddle really needs to let that go, especially since they have Richardson and Lippett who has been making plays this preseason.

well Jeremy is at practice/training camp so I'm going to take his word over yours

No offense, guy is a Panthers homer and has been for a couple years now, but I can't blame him, probably got him inside access :).  He also said Fua and McClain were going to be amazing DT's.  Just saying....

Why int he world would we trade for somebody they were about to cut? Were we worried we might. Ot be able land this premiere talent in free agency?

I believe that if he's cut it goes to the waiver wire, meaning there would be 24 teams ahead of us.  A few other teams (GB & Pats) are hurting for WR too... obviously both of them are below us on waivers.  GB 30, Pats 32.  So, I can understand Gman wanting to lock up something if there was a fit they like.

This wasn't a trade. He was released according to the Seattle Times. There was speculation in the media before training camp that Norwood might be the odd man out. The Hawks added quite a few new guys at WR.

He's a 1 year old vet. He can't be a free agent just after being cut so he was due to waivers where Carolina sits really low on the list. They liked him last year and probably think a 7th/conditional 7th is a small price to pay for a guy they were high on just 16 months ago.

what people don't realize is he was a panthers player all along sent under cover to the seahawks to spy on them. He played like butt on purpose and Carolina is bringing him back for nothing and now we have had someone on the inside so we will beat them this year. Also he is secretly a superstar WR

NICE!  Thanks for the laugh.  It's appreciated.

they were referenced as such by the media last year and most.  Graham certainly improves there pass attack tremendously.  WR talent in a vaccum......not strong at all until proven otherwise.

Wait, I said Fua would be an amazing DT?

lol

and McClain was a future all-pro.

I'm just saying, viewing at a practice doesn't matter, maybe he's trying to teach them, but I haven't seen anything ON THE FIELD that warrants crowning Proehl.   No slight against him, look at what he's been given.

Oh, they just won a championship, and probably should have won another one. That tells me all that I need to know. Contrary to a simplistic narrative, they just make plays when the game is on the line. The Seahawks are not a one or two man show. No NFL team that hopes to compete for championships really can be.

    • Everyone knew the catch was secured and didn't move. That was clear to the entire audience. The only ones who thought it wasn't a catch were in the NYC home office. They knew they'd just offer an apology the next day.
    • NEVER FORGET!!!!   Canales was on no one's radar. Tepper couldn't get anyone to come here. He was all in on Ben Johnson. Nobody wants to work with Tepper, however Canales tenure may prove important for the next guy. This guy still has no idea what he's doing.
    • The 4th down play was poor execution by Chuba. He didn't want to get physical like Rico and cut North South to lean on his blocks from Tremble and Ekwonu for half a yard. Also, the 3rd down play before that Bryce audibled out to a QB run and almost got the 1st down was on Chuba for not knowing the play call leading to poor execution. You can see Chuba's confusion when Bryce had to realign him. Then Chuba thought he was getting the handoff and was slow to develop his double team on the DE with Tremble. Then Chuba hesitated on pushing the block and just ran to the sideline making Bryce have to loop around him. This pulled the DE away from Tremble forcing Chuba to chip on the DE late and leaving the safety as a free defender. Chuba was suppose to double down on the DE to let Tremble peel off to the safety. This allows Bryce to set up his run to the inside or outside after the safety commits. You can also see Tremble walk over to talk to Chuba after the play and Chuba shrugs which tells me he didn't know what to do. The audible would have worked on 3rd and the dive would have worked on 4th. The plays were good calls and drawn up well. The question is why was Chuba unprepared for those plays in two critical back to back plays? I like Chuba as a 1st down RB and passing downs, but I have always seen him lacking the power and vision to be a short yardage power back. Chuba didn't come prepared for the Saints game or he was thrown into a position at the 3 spot that he was never prepared for.
