Ron Rivera wants Cam to run less

I don't really disagree with this. The problem though is, Cam Newton has been regularly having to takeover games for our offense since we drafted him. Here we are 4 years later, and still little has changed. I like Ron, I want him to succeed here, but his ineptitude when it comes to the offensive side of the ball may end up costing him his job.

Gettleman will never fire Ron.

Cam running less means losing more...simple and plain Ron.

Also, I am not sure you want to have 4 losing seasons in 5 years as a HC.....b/c IMO that likely could mark the end of your head coaching career.  Even if the organization gives you a "Fox" year where you coach a year 6 but know the deal.

Rivera shouldn't shoulder all the blame for the offense as it's constructed. The GM makes some of the calls, too, and I know the honeymoon period with Gettleman hasn't ended yet but if we're going to be fair here – which admittedly is not a frequent thing – it's not right to just pin that blame on Rivera.

Dave Gettleman didn't hire Mike Shula.

Ron Rivera did.

I love seeing Cam run for big yardage, the feeling I get seeing him run for touchdowns is actually not that far from sex, but 14 carries is too many for most games. We had to have most of them Sunday though bc the WRs were widely not receiving.

never lost a game that Cam has that many carries

I think you know that I have not agreed with Gettleman on everything in the past.

Of course there is a difference between that, and some of the silliness you've offered up here.

Now, let's look at our WR situation as it stands. We have drafted a WR within the first 2 rounds within the last 2 years. KB is obviously out for the season, which was unexpected to say the least. If we were to acquire a legitimate WR at this point, it would have to be via trade. So who, and for how much? Keep in mind, that if we take on a trade right now, we are likely to have to give up a fairly substantial pick, while also taking on a potentially hefty salary if the WR is worth a poo.
