Ron Rivera wants Cam to run less

What quality LT was there in the draft at our spot? What quality LT was available in free agency? What quality WR was available in free agency? How would we get multiple free agents and lock up Cam and Luke while leaving room for future extensions for Star, KK, Norman(?), etc. Getting rid of Gettleman would be the dumbest move this franchise has ever made.

Playing devil's advocate, one of the FA tackles many wanted last year is playing well in Arizona. Instead of renting Hardy, we could have signed a guy like Golden Tate.

Like every GM, Gettleman is capable of making mistakes. Overall, he is off to a good start, but that doesn't mean he is immune from criticism.

Almost everyone was behind franchising Hardy for a year while trying to clear cap space for a team-friendly extension. The franchise tag only ended up a mistake because he played all of one game. In retrospect, getting Tate would have been a great move, but letting Hardy walk after the season he had would have been insane at the time.

Remmers wasn't even on the team when Ron "chose" Chandler.

The Panthers signed him on Oct. 28 and he didn’t play a down the first three games.

When starting right tackle Nate Chandler was placed on injured reserve before the 12th game at Minnesota, he got the call.

Chandler is a nightmare. Somehow he has impressed RR, and I think it might have to do with being intelligent. It's sure as hell not due to his physical ability. Fua was another RR favorite, and I think it had a lot to do with the fact that he was an intelligent guy from Stanford. Could he play football? Hell no. RR is quirky.

Pretty simple IMO.  We need to run him as much as needed to be succesful as an offense.

If that is 14 times or 0 times doenst make a difference to me.

You were right a long time ago about drafting Cam but I can never agree with this.  If we continue to run Cam the way we have his career will end sooner that it should.

My hope is 5 carries or less a game.

I was ok with trying to work out a deal with Hardy, but then the word got out that we had no intention of keeping him past last year. So Gettleman's plan all along was just to rent him for 1 year at a cost of $13 million. Some of us thought that was a mistake.

The domestic violence came later and had nothing to do with the earlier decisions.

Bell and Chandler last year, Ginn and Brown this year. Failing to resign any of your WRs in one offseason. Failing to find a quality LT. Tagging Greg Hardy.

If if we fail to have a winning season again this year, that's 4/5 in the Cam/Ron era. No way that Ron, Shula, and even Cam should all survive that. At least one has to go and Cam already has his money. I'm predicting that no changes are made no matter what and that too falls on Gettleman.

Considering your answer above, how would YOU have acquired two starting offensive tackles, resign all your WRs that want raises, and reading Greg Hardy's mind to ensure that your franchise tag on him wasn't going to cost you $16 million?  And THEN extend your two franchise players to long term contracts (while others are pending like Norman, KK, and Star)?

Please use your financial acumen and go into detail as to your plan to do ALL of this.

All you Hindsight GMs are always pretty danged on the money.
