Never understood the Bersin hate. Just caught passes. Not sure if it's been mentioned on here before, but he'd never returned punts at any level before they asked him to last year. Not his fault he wasn't very good at it. But he has sure hands...something we need right now.

here is an idea....how about don't put either Philly or Bersin on the field.

Get Funchess and Norwood on the field.  Sprinkle in some Ginn speed in some packages.  Rotate Cotchery in with them to give them breaks.

and most importantly, run legit two TE sets and if Brandon Williams can't do it...then quit having him make the roster.  He is a physical freak that we keep bringing back and never use.

I like your idea too

Much to the chagrin of the Huddle, if there are more drops this weekend I'd love to see Bersin moved back up.  He's not going to get YAC and doubt he can even get much separation. But if he can be reliable and move the chains? It's better than our speed guys with feet for hands.

I'll take a catch with no YAC over a drop any time.

Ted Ginn?

Exactly.  More of that.  I'd take Ted stretching the field from the x, y, and z and MAYBE catching a ball before I'd want the Berse running a 3 yard out and the D stacking the box.  Would be nice to have a legitimate deep threat like Antonio Brown to take heat off of Cam but you takes what you can get.

Im so disappointed that I even have to find the keys on the keyboard to type this.

I dont care about speed or yac or verticals, I want catches.  That thing that Olsen does?  Yeah that.

Its all about balance and we already have sure handed catchers aka Olsen and & Cotcher, I rather have Norwood who has speed and good hands.

P.S. Bersin wouldn't be able to make the same  play where Cotchery faught for the 1st down.

When you give Philly Brown a free ride because he did not drop a ball in the game, you fail to consider several very important variables.

1.  If the QB loses confidence in him, he will get fewer targets.

2.  Brown may be thinking during his routes, getting open less, and getting fewer targets.  Not dropping the ball is not what we are looking for--we are looking for catching the ball.  More than Brown did Sunday, regardless of drops.

At this point no - Brown has enough speed that if he strings together a few catches, defensive coordinators will have to respect.  With that said, if he can't cure his drops, his speed won't really matter.  I feel confident in Bersin's ability to make the catch, I just think he's more of a short yardage threat and we need someone who can keep DB's honest.

I don't have the slightest clue why Bersin didn't make the roster. He had the most sure hands of any WR in the preseason. He had a better season last year then Norwood (and knows the playbook, as well), and surely could match the very little Philly did last week. He doesn't drop many passes and isn't as slow as he is made out to be. He'd be a nice compliment to Cotchery and Funchess. The only reason Bersin catches so much poo is because people just assume he is only on the team because he one of the owner's favorites, and not because he can, unlike half our WRs, actually catch the ball.

It's real simple...

Mike Shula doesn't know what the fug he is doing. Neither does Ron offensively, but that would be excusable if he would just find someone with a proven track record of consistent winning to run his offense
